Position summary

Non-Manufacturing Operational Group Manager (OGM)
 
Scope:
  • Responsible for managing entire the Global Facilities team within a non-manufacturing  Campus or Region to deliver a high level of Facility Services including Facility Maintenance, Housekeeping, Roads & Grounds and related Projects  
  • Oversee the development and execution of the service agreement with the Service Provider delivering  Facility Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Roads & Grounds services
  • Develop effective working relationships with business unit tenants and as well as externally with local businesses and governments
  • Be the face of Global Facilities (Brand Image) by marketing and communicating Global Facilities vision and purpose
     
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead strategic planning activities including hourly and salary headcount forecast and utilization, budgets and project funding, space planning, resource management and labor agreements with unions
  • Responsible to ensure the Service Provider is delivering efficient and timely execution of all facility services in the areas of Maintenance, Housekeeping, Roads & Grounds services, as well as driving continuous improvements and sharing lessons learned
  • Support a robust safety culture ensuring compliance with Workplace Safety Systems, and UAW/GM Safety Programs
  • Support the facility team in the implementation and ongoing development of the  Global Manufacturing system (GMS), including Business Plan Deployment (BPD)
  • Mentor/coach the facility team to continuously improve business processes and metrics
  • Responsible for the development and continuous improvement of Global Facilities common processes, to include compliance with all business processes and internal controls
  • Mentor/coach and support in the development of personnel
  • Actively participates as member of the non-manufacturing staff team, sharing information and lessons learned
  • Actively support and communicate our Global Facilities role in transforming tenant workspaces and helping to shape our GM culture

Positions located within South Eastern Michigan, some travel required

 Preferred Education/Experience:
 
• Bachelor's degree with a major in Engineering, Facilities Maintenance/Management
• Master’s degree preferred
• Working knowledge in business application software (Microsoft office, Outlook Calendar)and other related electronic tools
• Preferred BOMI or IFMA or other applicable professional certifications.
