Position summary

Key Job Responsibilities:

- Lead the design and execution of hybrid and electric vehicle battery pack controllers

- Ensure robust technical solutions are developed and released for each phase of the program

- Identify opportunities for improved specifications and best practices

- Execute root cause and problem resolution of vehicle or component development or validation issues

- Work with component validation engineer to develop and approve component validation plan and review validation results

- Implement the BOM and Reuse Strategy

- Prioritize ADV work based on program risk pareto

- Set priority and urgency for Engineering Work Orders, Problem Resolution, and Development / Validation Plans

- Champion DFSS, complex trade-off and root cause assessments

- Work with Supplier Program Manager in execution and leadership of Battery Controller Product Development Team (PDT)

- Meet program deliverables and imperatives

- Execute warranty reduction efforts on current product programs

- Work with supplier resident engineer on execution and approval of engineering work orders for controller hardware and/or software releases

Required Skills and Experience:

- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering

- Minimum five+ years’ experience in Design, Development, Validation and Release of automotive electrical/electronic components

- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult

- Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of electronics

- Time management skills to meet agreed upon customer deliverables, able to manage multiple projects

- Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required

- Experience in electrical analysis

- Demonstrated technical and professional skills in circuit board design and development.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

- MS degree in Engineering

- Experience with Hybrid Battery Electrical Components or Chargers

- Functional knowledge of vehicle and hybrid systems

- Ability to work under limited supervision

- Strong organization and documentation skills

- Demonstrated successful team leadership and collaboration with global technical development and cross-functional experts
