As the Tool & Die Group Leader you :


- Supervise a team of hourly, union employees involved in the maintenance of equipment, toots, and dies  including the set up and grinding of tools in a large automotive stamping facility


- Implement planning and scheduling for repair of equipment,tools and large transfer & progressive press dies used iautomotive metal fabricating


- Meet necessary delivery and cost goals


- Analyze tooling, equipment and die problems; select proper steps for solution


- Facilitate cross functional problem solving meetings


-  Implement Global Manufacturing Strategies with focus on safety, people,quality, responsiveness, cost, & environmental

initiatives


- Comply with terms of Local and National UAW Agreements


- Monitor safety and good housekeeping practices including workplace organization


- Maintain effective communications with team members and other departments

- Coordinate activities with production scheduling and maintenance


- Handle labor issues and make concise write-ups and investigations

Basic Required:

- Ability to understand mathematical calculations, and read blueprints


- Relatively high level analytical ability where problems are complex


- Medium level interpersonal skills to work effectively with others. motivate employees and elicit work output

- Good oral and written communication skills


- Sound knowledge basic mechanical concepts


- Supervisory experience 1-3 yrs

- Flexibility to work any shift: 1st. 2nd, or 3rd


- Ability to implement Global Manufacturing Strategies with focus on safety and quality initiatives, and standardization

 

Basic Preferred:

 

- Supervisory exper ience in manufacturing 1-3 yrs

- Experience in automotive metal fabricating

- Experience with large automotive transfer & progressive stamping presses.

- Die Maker Journeyman preferred

 

Education:

- Bachelor degree with major in Mechanical Engineering, Technology, Industrial, Management or equivalent experience
