Position summary

This position requires the ability tolegally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.


General Purpose of Position:

 
As a Lead Software Developer you will be responsible for design, development and testing of automotive infotainment software solutions for new features or major enhancements. Defect analysis resolution and verification for vehicle subsystem software. Lead design reviews on software changes.
 
Major Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Create software for new vehicle functions or major enhancements and perform integration and verification testing.
  • Analyze software defects; determine root cause, create software solution, test and verify closure.
  • Leads design analysis reviews.
  • Capable of leading other engineers and groups through their projects.
Knowledge:
  • UML based Human Machine Interface (HMI) designs.
  • Working knowledge of MVC design patterns for user interface development.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Products (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Working knowledge of XML schema design.
  • Working knowledge of automotive technologies including CAN, LIN, Speech recognition, GPS, Bluetooth.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience developing automotive infotainment systems including radios and instrument panel clusters.
  • Experience developing for Android & QNX (both application and middleware).
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Rational Team Concert.
  • Experience with UML tools like IBM Rhapsody.
  • Ability to manage and lead multiple projects and assignments with medium level of autonomy and accountability for results.
  • Analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with local and global team members customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
  • High level of understanding of GM Vehicle Development Process a plus
  • This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
Education/ Training
  • BSE, BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent training
Experience
  • Typical: 5-7 years of experience
