Vehicle Systems Engineers are the business partner of the Electrical Systems Management Team (SMT) to the Vehicle Program Team that deploys component/system solutions, manages imperatives, and ensures integration compatibility to the vehicle mission profile.

Sensing System Execution is a rapidly evolving space – deploying new camera, radar, lidar and ultrasonic sensors for driver assist features and autonomous vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deploy on-vehicle sensor system performance to end users. This position requires creativity, initiative, independent judgment backed with data, and effective cross-organizational teamwork to be successful.

The Role

The Senior Vehicle Systems Engineer is responsible for delivering the integrated on-vehicle sensor performance of the Radars for all ADAS programs. You will be responsible to advance end-to-end sensor performance that provides the highest level of benefit to our customers.

This involves hands-on in-vehicle, bench and virtual testing, data analysis, procedure refinement, tool deployment and performance optimization. In this role you will work closely with other sensor team members, sensing system design engineers, perception, feature engineers and design release engineers to deliver robust, integrated sensor performance for ADAS features.

What You'll Do

  • Single point contact for end-to-end sensor performance and execution of Acceptance Test Plan (ATP)

  • Integrate new sensor hardware and software on-vehicle

  • Lead on-vehicle sensor issue root cause, verify resolution and feed forward lessons learned

  • Guide sensor performance PRTS (problem resolution tracking system) and Jira tickets to resolution

  • Support software engineers, perception team and suppliers to ensure sensor capability is developed to achieve feature performance

  • Collaborate with Sensor System Design Engineers and DREs to establish and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPI), ATPs (Acceptance Test Plans), component IQC (Initial Quality Check) and sensor tools for sensors to meet perception and feature requirements

  • Participate in Dev/Val, Core, workgroups, PDTs, and technical reviews as required

  • Travel as needed in support of sensor development and performance calibration rides (less than 10%)
