Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center, Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

GMNA FP&A is responsible for the consolidation of financial performance across the US, Canada and Mexico.  Finance Analysts have responsibility for building relationships with and developing business intuition for assigned business functions.  The analyst must tactically ensure data integrity in the consolidation process as well as translate detailed data into a broader view communicating how operations drive the business and are impacted by the economic environment. This role provides extensive exposure to GMNA senior leadership as well all functional business units.

What You'll Do

  • Volume Actuals/Forecast

    • Consolidate production, logistics, and quality data necessary from various business partners

    • Work collaboratively with data owners to understand and influence volume to achieve targets

    • Build wholesale forecast incorporating revenue recognition triggers and events impacting and anticipated to impact wholesale volume

    • Report monthly on actuals and forecast, as well as the operating issues and risks and opportunities driving variances

  • Car Charts

    • Model volume and mix impacts by vehicle nameplate on a 1240, 1210 and J1 basis to support consolidated view of GMNA performance

    • Model Retail/Fleet volume and mix impacts

    • Model Country of Sale volume and mix impacts

    • Create meaningful summaries to highlight drivers of variances

  • Inventory Reporting

    • Monitor operational issues affecting inventory, e.g. quality holds, logistics constraints

    • Triangulate movements of inventory with impacts to the P&L, e.g. PVS manufacturing variances, wholesales, lower-of-cost-or-market write-offs

    • Report monthly on changes in inventory, days sales metrics as well as operating issues and risks and opportunities driving variances

  • Innovation Collaboration

    • Collaborate with transformation team to implement system improvements to enable efficiencies and pull ahead reporting timing

    • Work with business partners to synthesize information to achieve gold-standard for single source information

  • Market Analysis

    • Act as key contact with NAMA integrating market share targets and delivery performance into our consolidated understanding GMNA performance

    • Consolidate key metrics, e.g. market share, inventory and days sales, into meaningful summaries for leadership

  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and analysis

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field

  • 3+ years of related experience

  • Fluent in financial principles and financial analysis

  • Data Analysis, financial modeling skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Hyperion/Retrieve Skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
