Our growing team is seeking a passionate and talented Warranty Performance and Customer Care & Aftersales Budget Lead  to drive net warranty reduction efforts across the organization. Our work touches millions of people across the globe and our efforts instantaneously impact General Motors bottom line. As a member of the General Motors Global Purchasing and Supply Chain team, you'll be working with a talented cross functional group of industry professionals pushing the boundaries of efficient and effective net cost reduction and cost recovery.

Description:

The Warranty Performance and Customer Care & Aftersales Budget Lead will support the warranty & CCA managers and their teams who strategize and execute net reduction, cost recovery activities, and expenditures.  The role requires analysis of the issues, development of strategy and obtaining cross functional alignment to drive net warranty reduction and recover costs related to warranty. Considerable initiative, attention to detail and independent judgement is required. A successful candidate will demonstrate ability to:

  • Frame and drive strategies/decisions that balance business considerations and cross-functional perspectives

  • Anticipate risk and opportunities throughout the process; help remove roadblocks and escalate as needed

  • Communicate clearly through standalone presentations, leadership reviews, team meetings and 1:1 discussions with senior leaders

  • This role involves a high level of independent judgment and ingenuity; you will have the opportunity to grow and be recognized as a leading Warranty Performance professional. 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day to day support to Ordinary Warranty Tech Factor leads, Billing Dispute team, and Field Action team to understand targets, performance and identify any escalations needed to resolve roadblocks with supplier partners.

  • Develop expertise in Warranty budget process

  • Advise of trends for effective cost recovery strategy, obtains cross functional alignment with key stakeholders, and lead execution

  • Support the WP teams by functioning as a liaison with cross-functional stakeholders to drive a firm GM position on supplier “shareable” responsibility for warranty Technical Factor, in order to facilitate cost recovery settlement from suppliers

  • Manages net warranty reduction imperatives, financial and resource risk assessment and uncertainties through effective decision framing and driving for resolution

This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5 years of post graduate experience with Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, or related

  • Automotive Experience

  • Strong drive for results and history of driving high performance teams

  • Evidence of strong framing and communication skills

  • Negotiation skills

  • Ability to understand terms and collaborate with legal staff

  • Preferred ability to understand & interpret warranty, technical data and engineering analysis

  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead teams to consensus

  • Ability to work independently, in ambiguous situations and out of process

  • Major automotive OEM or Supplier
