Work Arrangement ​​:

Hybrid: Position requires that the employee be onsite a minimum of three (3) days each week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). You will be based out of Milford Proving Grounds with occasional travel to Warren.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual who is passionate about driving software quality within Vehicle Motion Embedded Controls Software. As a Software Quality Architect at VMEC you will be working with highly complex and safety critical VMEC product software and ensure the development of high-quality software. You will be responsible for leading the adoption and implement of BIQ quality practices at the Agile Release Train (ART) level.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead execution of VMEC built-in quality vision within an ART

  • Ensure development of high-quality software by incorporating and implementing modern software testing methodologies 

  • Develop and define testing strategies (Different testing levels, manual and automation) to ensure first time quality

  • Lead test planning activity to develop test requirements, high level test plans, identify stakeholders as well as help with effort estimates

  • Ensure that the ART is engaging the right stakeholders for robust ART Feature Acceptance Criteria Definition

  • Lead Behavior Driven Development implementation

  • Adopt industry standards such as ISO9000 and ASPICE to help build the software quality guidelines and implementation strategies 

  • Collaborate with the controller integration system team to ensure test suites balance speed and quality to ensure flow 

  • Train the ART on built-in quality practices and related skills Audit the ART to ensure built-in quality practices are being followed

  • Develop ART metrics to identify sources of quality defects and improvement opportunities

  • Lead problem resolution, collaborate with the development teams to resolve quality issues and identify robust solutions

  • Provide technical and process mentoring to new employees

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 5+ years of experience with Automotive software design and System Engineering principles (i.e. Model-based Systems Engineering)
  • Skillful in Program Management Techniques
  • High level of analytical ability solving difficult problems.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Results driven individual with high levels of initiative, urgency, and pro-activeness.
  • Good business acumen, organizational and strategic agility

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)​:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 8+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience leading and implementing organizational process changes
  • Working and applied knowledge on E2E Automotive Software testing and associated principles (Behavior Driven Development (BDD), ASPICE etc.)
  • Working knowledge and hands on experience on SW test automation and associated tools/scripting languages (Robot, Python, C++ etc.).
  • Hands on experience working in different test environments (Hardware in loop (HIL), Software in Loop (SIL), Virtual (CoSIM, Virtual ECU) etc.)
  • Understanding of what continuous integration applied to embedded software development:
    • Working knowledge of embedded software development using C and associated tools (Jira, DOORS, Rhapsody, GIT etc.)
    • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and comprehending software requirements
    • Strong experience with Agile software development workflows
    • Technical knowledge of software Calibrations and the impact on system functionality
    • High level of knowledge of state-of-the-art technology and competitive products
    • Experience with System safety principles and associated standards (example: ISO26262 etc.)
