Senior Product Manager, eCommerce / Shopify Plus

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical Innovation Center in Mountain View, CA three times per week, at minimum.

The Software & Services division of General Motors is responsible for defining and delivering the software, electrical hardware, and services that enable and support GM vehicles. From mechatronic infrastructure to OnStar connected services, and infotainment systems to autonomous driving – we are creating complete and compelling vehicle experiences for our customers.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced individual to join GM as a Senior Product Manager , with a strong focus on stakeholder alignment and strategic vision within complex global environments. This role requires a keen ability to foster relationships, navigate organizational dynamics, and lead teams in revitalizing outdated eCommerce shopping platforms to align with modern technology and customer needs.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and knowledgeable with Shopify Plus and is committed to delivering high-quality digital shopping experiences that are both customer-centric and strategically viable for our business.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, manage, and drive product initiatives across the organization.

  • Contribute to the definition of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on customer needs and market trends.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure product goals and priorities alignment.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and potential threats.

  • Develop and manage product requirements, including user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.

  • Create and maintain product backlogs and prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.

  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to develop intuitive and compelling user interfaces.

  • Define and track key metrics using OKRs and KPIs to measure product success and inform future decisions.

  • Communicate product updates, progress, and plans to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, customers, and partners.

  • Manage product launches, including developing go-to-market strategies and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.

  • Conduct post-launch analysis to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Continuously iterate and improve the product based on user feedback, market trends, and business goals.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of Product Management experience with eCommerce shopping platforms (mobile and web)

  • 2+ years of experience with Shopify Plus in a platform or product related position

  • Must have led user focus groups and customer interactions to gather data (discovery phase of Product Management)

  • Must have led products from concept to delivery

  • Experience in developing eCommerce analytical reports (conversion rate, click-through rate, cost per acquisition, etc.)

  • Proven ability to balance tradeoffs between consumer expectations, business objectives, and technical constraints

  • Expertise in developing solutions to complex challenges using data-informed decision-making and risk assessment

  • Demonstrated expertise in writing, with the ability to effectively balance and integrate vision, strategy, and technical details in a cohesive narrative

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts effectively across stakeholders

  • Must be willing to travel to Michigan up to 4x annually

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)​

  • Advanced educational background (MBA, Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience

  • Previous responsibilities related to managing the customer online shopping experience

  • Experience working on Global platforms

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

  • The salary range for this role is $131,000 to $202,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
