Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the Milford Proving Ground - Bldg 40 - EMC, Central Machine Shop, IKC , or the GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Center Podium at least three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits. This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about innovation to join our Service Information Development (SID) team to drive modernization efforts and enhance operational efficiencies through advanced data analytics and reporting. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Power BI and database management to streamline processes, automate reporting, and provide actionable insights that support our business goals.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), workload distribution, and operational efficiencies.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets from various databases to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and drive informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the SID team and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tailored analytical solutions.
  • Automate manual processes by integrating databases and tools (such as Power BI, Databricks, SQL databases) to reduce redundancy and enhance productivity.
  • Support and optimize existing database structures and recommend improvements to data collection and reporting methods.
  • Conduct regular data audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of reports and dashboards.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to present findings, provide insights, and suggest data-driven solutions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for new data-driven initiatives to improve workflow and decision-making capabilities within the SID team.
  • Develop and create analytical tools or applications as future needs arise, enhancing the team's capability to respond effectively to evolving requirements.
  • Participate in vehicle validations and authoring to understand the team's work.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization, dashboard creation, and report generation.
  • Strong experience with database management systems (SQL, Hadoop, Databricks, or equivalent).
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical team members.
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills, able to work effectively in a hybrid and cross-functional environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Previous experience with automotive service information or diagnostic processes.
  • Experience integrating Microsoft 365 applications and automation platforms (e.g., Power BI, Power Automate, Powe Apps), and cloud solutions.
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and terminologies such as DTC, SPS, and GDSII.
  • Certification or formal training in data analytics, database management, or related areas.
