Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

The IndyCar IR28 Project Manager leads cross-functional program execution supporting Chevrolet’s development and launch of the IR28 IndyCar platform. This role serves as the central integration point across IndyCar, Chevrolet-supported teams, suppliers, and GM Motorsports to ensure alignment on technical deliverables, program timing, issue resolution, and implementation readiness.

You will build and maintain strong working relationships across internal teams and external partners while proactively identifying and removing program roadblocks through effective coordination and follow-through. Lead working sessions, integration meetings, and stakeholder reviews to ensure alignment, and drive disciplined program management practices including action tracking, governance cadence, and documentation. Represent GM Motorsports in external engagements with professionalism and accountability, while fostering a culture of collaboration, urgency, and continuous improvement.

Successful candidates bring strong program management discipline and excel at coordinating multiple stakeholders in a high-performance, fast-

paced environment. Motorsports experience is highly advantageous.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as primary liaison between IndyCar, teams, suppliers, and GM Motorsports stakeholders

  • Lead cross-functional coordination of IR28 program activities, including requirements alignment and deliverable tracking

  • Develop and maintain an integrated program plan across engineering, operations, suppliers, and series timelines

  • Drive issue identification, tracking, escalation, and resolution across technical and program topics

  • Establish structured intake, prioritization, and escalation processes

  • Identify program risks, dependencies, and critical path items; escalate as necessary

  • Coordinate support for testing, validation, supplier readiness, and vehicle launch milestones

  • Ensure consistent and clear communication of program status across stakeholders

  • Facilitate cross-functional decision-making and trade-off discussions

  • Prepare leadership updates including program status, risks, and required decisions

  • Ensure compliance with IndyCar regulations, supplier agreements, and team requirements

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Motorsport Management, or related field

  • 7 or more years of experience in motorsports, program management, vehicle programs, or supplier coordination

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong understanding of vehicle development processes in a high-performance environment

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

  • Proven ability to lead through influence and drive accountability

  • Experience working with external partners, suppliers, or sanctioning bodies

  • Ability to travel for testing events, team engagements, and supplier reviews, domestically with limited international travel

What Will Give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience supporting IndyCar or open-wheel racing programs

  • Familiarity with chassis, aero, powertrain, electronics, and vehicle integration

  • Experience with issue tracking, supplier readiness, and launch coordination

  • Knowledge of competition regulations and validation processes

  • Ability to balance technical, operational, and commercial priorities
