Work Arrangement: 

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Markham Elevation Centre (MEC) and/or Oshawa Elevation Centre (OEC) three times per week at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:
The Body Controls Calibration and System Testing Team is rapidly growing and is being transformed due to the adoption of software defined architecture. In Body electronics system test space, we calibrate and validate different customer facing features in functional areas like Exterior and Interior Lighting, Vehicle Access, occupant Protection, Cabin Comfort, etc. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in future technologies GM is introducing in Body Electronics/Mechatronics space.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Eligible to work full-time hours, 40 hours a week for a term of 12- 16 months (consecutive semesters) starting January 2027

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency in Embedded C and Python

  • Candidate demonstrates a high degree of ownership and initiative for their work, and strong collaboration and teamwork skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Knowledge of GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira

  • Knowledge of embedded software development using C/Matlab/Simulink

  • Valid Ontario G Driver License

  • AutoDrive, EcoCAR, or other Automotive related experience/clubs.

NOTE- YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN A CO-OP PROGRAM AND MEET THE PROGRAM’S ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.  ALL STUDENTS MUST ALSO BE LEGALLY ENTITLED TO WORK IN CANADA.

The monthly salary range for this role is $4,264.00 to $4784.00. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
