Hybrid: for this position is required to be on site 3x/week
The Calibration Engineer is an individual contributor with recognized technical expertise, responsible for delivering calibration activities across the full vehicle development lifecycle , including requirements definition, calibration strategy development, implementation, validation, and issue resolution .
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, ownership, and validation of engine calibration parameter datasets , ensuring robust system performance, regulatory compliance, and vehicle readiness. This role involves a combination of in-vehicle and laboratory data collection, large-scale data analysis, and performance verification on both bench and vehicle , supporting the execution of high-quality controls and diagnostic calibrations .
This position requires a high degree of technical judgment, independent execution, and cross-functional collaboration , with travel expectations of approximately 30 days per year .
What you will do (responsibilities):
- Develop and execute engine calibration plans , applying sound engineering judgment and technical expertise to achieve program objectives.
-
Independently create, optimize, and validate calibration datasets to meet performance, emissions, drivability, durability, and regulatory targets.
-
Lead diagnosis and resolution of calibration-related issues using structured problem-solving methods and drive corrective actions.
-
Plan and support test bench and vehicle testing activities , including setup, execution, data analysis, and recommendation of next steps with minimal supervision.
-
Participate in development trips and test campaigns , collecting and interpreting data to refine calibrations and support vehicle maturity.
-
Investigate and resolve issues identified through manufacturing, durability testing, validation activities, or customer feedback , escalating when needed and ensuring robust follow-through.
-
Collaborate effectively with Product Development Teams and other cross-functional stakeholders to improve calibration quality, timing, and execution.
-
Develop, apply, and continuously improve post-processing and analysis tools to ensure data integrity and enable efficient calibration decisions.
