WHY: The purpose of this role is to lead and execute yard campaigns for finished vehicles and components at assembly sites, vehicle distribution centers, and repair sites throughout North America that need skilled resources to manage the workload. This position is critical to ensure GM continues to deliver high quality vehicles and services to our customers.
WHAT: As a Reflash & Repair Execution Lead, you will update vehicle systems and components at a rate that sustains production operations and ships vehicles direct to commerce. Execution is typically a high-volume operation working with key third-party providers. Campaigns will vary across all vehicles systems with significant focus on software updates, component inspection, and some replacement.
HOW: Motivate teams & execute daily targets for our manufacturing leadership and vehicle assembly sites in a manner that delivers quality products on time to our dealers and customers.
Work Arrangement - Onsite
The successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center on a full-time basis. This role requires up to 75% of domestic and international travel.
This position may be filled with a Senior Engineer or Non-Senior Engineer. The level for this role will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
Level 7 (senior) Responsibilities:
- Owns onsite execution for complex, high-volume, or ambiguous campaigns, providing daily direction 3rd party resources while adapting plans to protect safety, quality, throughput, and timing.
- Independently analyzes emerging software and hardware quality issues to develop and implement effective remediation / reflash strategies, ensuring clear communication to cross-functional teams.
- Delivers high-judgement communication that translates execution data into quantified gaps, business risks, recommendations, and decisions needed, while building strong cross-functional alignment.
- Mentors peers and contractors on complex technical work and leadership judgment, while improving playbooks, workflows, and operating methods for future campaign readiness.
- Foster a forward-thinking work culture that embraces change and navigates future organizational and industry challenges.
- Build and nurture strategic relationships across various functions including software, manufacturing, and program management to synergize efforts towards future innovations.
Level 6 (non-senior) Responsibilities:
- Leads onsite execution for assigned campaigns, directing 3rd party and support resources to daily safety, quality and throughput targets.
- Troubleshoots emerging software and hardware quality issues using established tools and playbooks and escalates with clear problem statements and recommended countermeasures.
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, tracks performance to plan, and takes action to recover misses and keep campaign moving forward.
- Provides clear daily reporting on progress, blockers, risks, and help needed, while maintaining accurate documentation and execution discipline.
- Coordinates effectively with plant, quality, logistics, engineering, and program teams, while coaching contractors on standardized work and campaign requirements.

- Build and nurture strategic relationships across various functions including software, manufacturing, and program management to synergize efforts towards future innovations.
Level 7 (senior) Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, vehicle software reflash, electrical diagnostics, repair execution, or related vehicle systems work.
- Advanced technical expertise in vehicle software reflash, repair execution, diagnostics, or campaign troubleshooting across multiple vehicle systems and failure modes.
- Strong executive-style communication skills, including concise status, quantified gaps to plan, clear recommendations, and escalation for alignment rather than direction.
- Analytical mindset with sound decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to anticipate downstream impacts, assess risk, develop countermeasures, and adjust execution plans to protect yard throughput, plant operations, and customer-facing quality outcomes.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.
- Quick learner with a passion for staying current on emerging technologies and methods while driving innovation and continuous improvement.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently (75%+ domestic/international)
Level 6 (non-senior) Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, vehicle software reflash, electrical diagnostics, repair execution, or related vehicle systems work.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting vehicle systems and executing software reflash, repair, inspection, or containment work in a manufacturing, yard, service, or validation environment.
- Ability to lead day-to-day campaign execution using standardized work, while protecting safety, quality, and timing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including daily status reporting, end-of-shift updates, and timely escalation of roadblocks or technical issues.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with plant teams, quality, logistics, engineering and 3rd party resources in a fast-paced execution environment.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple moving parts with limited day-to-day follow-up.
- Demonstrated learning agility with a passion for staying current on emerging technologies and methods while driving innovation and continuous improvement.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently (75%+ domestic/international)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in automotive manufacturing, vehicle test systems, component software and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with manufacturing and engineering diagnostic tools, such as GBFTT, MERS, GEPICS, GSIP, CHIPS, V-Spy, DPS, and Intrepid Network Adapters.
- Familiarity with OEM service testing and diagnostic systems, preferably GM systems (e.g., SI, SPS, GDS, EPS, TLC, MDI) or equivalent tools from other manufacturers.
- Understanding of vehicle logistics systems and tools such as VTIMS or similar platforms.
- Relevant advanced technical certifications or degrees in automotive engineering, automotive technology, or related fields.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
