- Responsible for daily interface and coordination of all facilities-related activities for their respective building(s) and/or business unit to ensure high quality and timely delivery of building maintenance and housekeeping services
- Maintain open communication between the tenant and Sustainable Workplaces
- Drives strategic and analytical planning to optimize building and facility services guided by industry benchmark standards including: space utilization (move service center, furniture/ergonomics), energy efficiency, Service Agreement deliverables, and On-Demand activities.
- Responsible to ensure the Service Provider is delivering efficient and timely execution of all facility services in the areas of Maintenance, Housekeeping, Roads & Grounds services, as well as diving continuous improvements and sharing lessons learned
- Drives successful planning and execution Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles and elements
- Responsible for supporting the workspace transformation projects by actively engaging with the Space Planning team in the change management process for group moves including: move process checklist, customer orientation, and occupancy surveys.
- Ensuring issue and resolution of daily tenant needs and longer-term projects by pulling in the required resources such as Engineering, Resource Management, Communications, Real Estate, Food and Administration Services
- Responsible for meeting our GM Global Safety standards, including but not limited to: Speak up for Safety, Global Call to Action, Safety Observation Tours, employee safety concerns, incident investigation, safety module compliance, and sentinel events.

As a member of Infrastructure & Corporate Citizenship – Facilities Space Planning Team, the Portfolio Planner role focuses on supporting the workplace and facility systems in a wide range of facilities that GM has around the world. You will work with an industry leading team that designs, builds/constructs, and maintains facilities and building assets for vast operating functions. Doing so in a safe, compliant, cost-efficient manner utilizing advanced technology to support social & ecological sustainability.

- Responsible to write and submit PR's for Move Service Center budget. Maintain the budget, forecasts and accruals for all billing.
- Ownership of the move process from kick-off through to stakeholder occupancy to ensure appropriate support for all team members
- Meet with Stakeholders and develop scope of work for project moves or incoming space requests.
- Hold monthly reviews with JLL regarding process and services to be provided. This meeting includes workloads and invoice status. Look for ways to improve process and deliverables including oversight of move service coordinators (and physical walks with documentation)
- Lead and drive action and accountability in space planning strategy meetings
- Validate and conduct regular monitoring to understand existing space utilization at main GM campuses and manufacturing sites (use MSC coordinators as appropriate)
- Review CAFM/Archibus report data for potential space utilization opportunities & update data as layout changes are executed.
- Support space planning software ideation
- Assign and maintain footprint data for Non-Manufacturing structures
- Support all interiors/workplace transformation team initiatives with space data and feasibility studies
- Coordinate space request forms with transformation team members and strategic planning team members. Work with business units to identify and find space as required. Develop comparative analysis of alternatives.
- Establish relationships with organization's internal business units and Facility leads
- Prepare proposed high level space plans with graphic layouts (adjacencies/reconfigurations/headcount info)
- Engage and work with Furniture Coordination, Facility leads, GMIT & MSC when needed in a project move
- Work as the move lead for all project moves and drive accountability with the stakeholder, project team, MSC and all other parties involved in a project move.
- Analyze current and forecast headcount, adjacencies, and business needs to translate them into space programs and test fits.
- Participate in/lead space strategy meetings to align leaders on how portfolios are used and optimized.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming space requests (new teams, growth, consolidations, special spaces).
- Engage early with requesters to clarify requirements, then develop space proposals and options.
- Maintain and adjust seating plans as organizations change, ensuring allocations stay aligned with org charts and functional plans.
- Work with organizational/functional planners to keep assignments accurate and support ongoing churn.
- Plan and coordinate internal moves end-to-end (who, when, where), often acting as the single owner for move planning and execution.
- Partner with facilities, interiors, and estimating/project management to hand off approved layouts into delivery.
- Use occupancy, utilization, and portfolio data to justify solutions, negotiate trade-offs, and influence leaders toward optimal use of space.
- Support adherence to workplace, design, and furniture standards as part of broader facility engineering and architecture governance.
- Navigate high levels of organizational churn, balancing competing demands and “unpopular” space decisions through influence, relationships, and political savvy.
- Coordinate with change management/comms where moves or re-stacking significantly impact employees.
