WHY: The purpose of this role is to lead a team of software integration engineers responsible for releasing vehicle test and flash support for all GM North America (GMNA) produced vehicles. 


WHAT: As an EGM MSI, you will lead the successful implementation of standardized software integration processes across GMNA final assembly plants, enhancing consistency, quality, and efficiency in production testing.


HOW: By collaborating with plant teams to align integration practices, resolve issues, and deliver dependable testing and flash support.


Work Arrangement - Onsite

The successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center on a full-time basis. This role requires up to 25% domestic and international travel.


What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Lead and develop an engineering team by mentoring team members, supporting career growth, participating in talent selection/training, and aligning team goals to Global Electrical Lighthouse objectives.
  • Oversee Manufacturing Test and Flash Software integration across GMNA final assembly plants, with focus on vehicle testing, flash releases, cycle-time reduction, and defect prevention.
  • Drive operational improvements through bench testing, VeSCoM checkouts, EFTQ initiatives, and early issue identification across plants and programs.
  • Manage program execution and stakeholder engagement through weekly GA Program Reviews, launch readiness support, budget/resource management, and collaboration with manufacturing, software, and internal customer teams.
  • Support continuous improvement and issue resolution by protecting plants/customers from EOL defects, escalating roadblocks, driving IT system changes, and creating feedback loops to product teams.
  • Foster a forward-thinking work culture that embraces change and navigates future organizational and industry challenges.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships across various functions including software, manufacturing, and program management to synergize efforts towards future innovations.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • People leadership — Ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering talent.
  • Electrical quality — Apply Electrical First Time Quality principles to identify systemic issues and prevent defects.
  • Process excellence — Standardize work and drive continuous improvement across plants and programs.
  • Program and launch management — Support vehicle launches, GA Program Reviews, SWQRRs/PQRRs, readiness activities, and leadership reporting.
  • Cross-functional collaboration — Align teams and drive meaningful results.
  • Resource and budget management — Manage travel budgets, allocate resources, and balance priorities.
  • Communication — Clearly communicate progress, risks, metrics, lessons learned, and recommendations.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Manufacturing software integration — Knowledge of Manufacturing Test and Flash Software, vehicle testing, flash releases, and software deployment in assembly plants.
  • Technical problem solving — Troubleshoot issues, remove roadblocks, and use bench testing and VeSCoM checkouts for early detection.
  • Strong manufacturing systems knowledge — Understand plant IT systems, configuration management, flash tools, vehicle/component testers, and traceability.
  • Enterprise influence — Ability to align Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, IT, plant teams, software teams, and leadership around common actions and timing.
  • Executive communication — Translate technical risks into business impacts and decision-ready recommendations.
  • Continuous improvement — Build feedback loops, prevention methods, and scalable best practices.
  • Crisis management — Ability to lead calmly through urgent plant issues, coordinate rapid response, escalate appropriately, and keep stakeholders aligned.
