In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will lead and develop high performance backend services and systems for GM Commercial Software. What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable and performant services and systems
- Build and launch new capabilities and products that bring significant value to customers internal and external
- Uphold our high engineering standards. Elevate quality and engineering efficiency within our codebases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization including product, design, and other engineering functions.
- Mentor engineers earlier in their technical career to help them grow.
- Explore new technologies and enrich our technological stack.
- Actively participate in technical discussions and deep dives with architectural group.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5+ years of hands-on backend software development
- Experience in building production-quality, highly performant and scalable distributed systems and Service-Oriented architecture
- Experience in one of the JVM languages Java / Scala / Kotlin + SpringBoot.
- Experience in writing high quality production code that is tested thoroughly, supported by clear documentation and has appropriate production observability
- Strong CS fundamentals, including OO concepts, data structures, algorithms, and systems architecture
- Solid understanding and experience with NoSQL and relational DB
- Empathy with users internal and external, and a strong customer focus
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Strong product focus and acumen.
- Experience working independently and drive features or components throughout the development lifecycle
- Experience with at least one of the public cloud providers Azure, AWS, GCP
- Experience with IoT stack is a big plus
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering preferred
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The salary range for this role is $153,200 - $269,200 . The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as the geography of the selected candidate.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
