Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as onsite. this means the successful candidate to report to the GM office full time.
The Role
Facility Supervisor leads day-to-day operation and maintenance of plant facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient support to manufacturing. The role drives GM Manufacturing System (GMS) behaviors on the shop floor, manages salaried and hourly teams and contractors, and ensures facility systems and services meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee engagement expectations.
What You'll Do

Lead daily facilities operation across assigned areas (e.g., building services, industrial cleaning, grounds, and support services) to ensure uninterrupted support to production.

Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for facility systems and equipment using CMMS and standard work.

Own shift management for facility teams, including work assignment, resource planning, and real-time problem resolution.

Monitor and control facility KPIs (safety, environmental, cost, availability, response time, customer satisfaction) and report performance to leadership.

Ensure strict compliance with GM safety standards, environmental regulations, and local legal requirements in all facility activities.

Coordinate with production, maintenance, EHS, security, and other support functions to address facility-related issues and priorities.

Manage contractors and service providers to meet GM standards and contract requirements.

Lead daily reviews / tier meetings, communicate priorities, and ensure clear direction and feedback to salaried and hourly employees.

Escalate critical risks related to facility systems (e.g., power, water, compressed air, HVAC, fire systems) and coordinate rapid response to protect people, assets, and production.

Support development, execution, and testing of business continuity and emergency response plans for facility systems.

Identify and implement improvements in facility operations to reduce breakdowns, enhance service level, and optimize operating costs.

Ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders, checklists, inspections, and statutory documentation.

Support GMS and Operational Excellence (OPEX) activities within Facilities, including basic lean tools, 5S, visual management, and standardization.

Participate in and sometimes lead structured problem-solving for recurring facility issues using GM-standard methods.

Coach team members on safe work practices, facility procedures, and expected GMS behaviors.

Support budgeting and cost control for facility operations (consumables, services, contractors, utilities) and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives.

Collaborate with engineering and project teams on new facility installations, upgrades, and commissioning to ensure maintainability and smooth handover to operations.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualification)
Educational and Experience Background

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, chemical Engineering, or related discipline.

7 ~ 10 years of experience in facility operations, maintenance supervision / building services within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Proven track record in managing facility systems, contractors, or service providers to meet safety, quality, and cost targets.
Technical Skills
-
Working knowledge of facility and utility systems such as electrical distribution, compressed air, HVAC, water and wastewater, fire protection, and building infrastructure.

Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance planning, execution, and documentation.

Hands-on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work orders, planning, and spare parts.

Basic application of lean tools to facility operations (5S, visual management, standard work, waste elimination).

Familiarity with risk assessment and safety practices related to facility and utility operations (LOTO, confined space, work at height, hot work, etc.).

Competent user of Microsoft Office tools for reporting and analysis; experience with Power Apps or other digital tools is an advantage.

Understanding of environmental and regulatory requirements relevant to facility systems (where applicable).
