The Role:
This position leads the business strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of dealer-facing digital experiences and applications that simplify how GM dealers access information, complete tasks, and do business with GM.
Retail Center will be the initial assignment for this position. The broader role supports GM’s overall dealer experience portfolio, which may include applications and capabilities spanning vehicle inventory, retail sales workflows, dealer communications, customer and vehicle context, incentives and offers, dealer operations, and other areas that improve the dealer experience. The position translates dealer and business needs into clear product direction, requirements, priorities, and operating processes, with the flexibility to move across applications as business needs evolve.
This position works across dealers, product and design teams, IT and engineering, vehicle inventory and pricing teams, data and integration teams, customer identity and CRM partners, Dealer Service Providers (DSPs), and other third-party vendors.
The successful candidate combines strong dealer and retail judgment with product, analytical, operational, and technical aptitude. The position requires the ability to lead cross-functional work, manage competing priorities, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and continuously improve dealer and customer experiences in a complex and evolving environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead business ownership for the Retail Center application, balancing dealer needs, business value, delivery feasibility, and operational readiness.
- Translate dealer feedback, field observations, business strategy, and stakeholder input into product vision, roadmap priorities, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with dealers to understand sales workflows, validate concepts, support pilots, gather feedback, and improve adoption.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams through discovery, requirements, design, development, integration, testing, launch, stabilization, and post-launch optimization.
- Define and prioritize capabilities across dealer experience applications that help dealers locate information, complete tasks, manage workflows, serve customers, and operate more efficiently; this may include inventory, trade, incentives, order information, communications, and deal-entry capabilities.
- Partner with vehicle inventory, pricing, incentives, and data teams to ensure Retail Center uses authoritative data, consistent business rules, reliable integrations, and clear data-quality practices.
- Coordinate dependencies across dealer-facing applications and the shared platforms, data sources, integrations, and services that support inventory, pricing, incentives, customer identity, customer relationship management, and other retail workflows.
- Establish launch-readiness criteria for new and enhanced dealer experience capabilities, covering business requirements, dealer access, data quality, user acceptance testing, training, communications, support processes, monitoring, and operational handoff.
- Lead pilot, rollout, and change-management activities for dealer experience capabilities, including dealer communications, enablement, feedback collection, issue triage, adoption tracking, and transition to steady-state support.
- Serve as a business escalation point for dealer, product, data, integration, and operational issues; coordinate root-cause analysis, mitigation, corrective actions, and sustained resolution.
- Manage relationships with vendors and external partners, including delivery expectations, requirements, risks, issue resolution, performance, and alignment to GM business objectives.
- Provide concise updates on roadmap progress, milestones, risks, decisions, dependencies, launch readiness, and changes to leadership and stakeholders.
- Represent dealer experience initiatives in cross-functional governance forums and ensure business decisions, trade-offs, and requirements are documented and maintained in the authoritative work-management system.
- Identify opportunities to streamline manual work, eliminate fragmented or redundant workflows, improve reliability, and simplify the dealer and customer experience.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, automotive, product management, or a related field.
- Four to six years of experience leading cross-functional initiatives, products, programs, business processes, or related work.
- Experience supporting the dealer retail network, automotive, digital retail, or customer-facing applications.
- Experience translating dealer and business needs into product priorities, requirements, workflows, and implementation plans.
- Experience delivering products or programs across business, design, engineering, data, and operations teams.
- Experience working directly with dealers or other end users to validate solutions and improve adoption.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, business judgment, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of enterprise applications, data integrations, APIs, and data-quality practices.
- Experience managing vendors or external partners is a plus.
- Experience with product, project, issue-tracking, or workflow-management tools is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for dealer visits, cross-functional workshops, or other business needs.
