설명
Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV is looking for innovators who thrive in tough challenges and are passionate about tackling meaningful work that will shape the future of the automotive industry. This role sits at the intersection of manufacturing, vehicle quality, and emerging vehicle technologies, helping ensure vehicles are properly validated and calibrated before reaching customers.
If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working directly with manufacturing plants, and driving continuous improvement across global operations, we'd love to hear from you.
This Role Is Ideal For
Engineers with experience in manufacturing systems, vehicle calibration technologies, alignment systems, active safety systems, or end-of-line validation who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, supporting global manufacturing operations, and developing the next generation of vehicle production capabilities.
WHY
Ensure GM manufacturing plants can reliably validate, calibrate, and launch increasingly complex vehicle technologies by supporting end-of-line systems that directly impact vehicle quality, regulatory compliance, production performance, and customer satisfaction.
WHAT
As an End-of-Line Systems Engineer, you will support, troubleshoot, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing systems used for vehicle alignment, headlamp aim, active safety calibration, and emerging vehicle technologies. You will serve as a key technical resource for plants, helping resolve complex issues while supporting implementation of future manufacturing capabilities.
HOW
Partner with manufacturing plants, engineering teams, suppliers, and product development organizations to solve complex technical issues, deploy new technologies, and improve end-of-line system performance across GM's global manufacturing network.
Work Arrangement – Onsite
The successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center on a full-time basis. This role requires up to 50% domestic and international travel.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Serve as a hands-on technical resource supporting complex end-of-line manufacturing issues, including onsite troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Conduct proactive health assessments of end-of-line equipment, test systems, and interfaces to identify risks and prevent production disruptions.
- Plan and execute end-of-line equipment upgrades driven by new vehicle content, controls changes, manufacturing improvements, and regulatory requirements.
- Support testing, validation, and correlation of new manufacturing technologies and processes, including development of test plans, execution of experiments, and documentation of results.
- Partner with execution teams to deploy new or modified end-of-line systems, ensuring plant readiness and successful production implementation.
- Support development, standardization, and maintenance of manufacturing processes, equipment standards, and technical documentation for vehicle alignment, headlamp aim, active safety calibration, and related systems.
- Troubleshoot issues spanning hardware, software, manufacturing equipment, and plant systems to improve Electrical First Time Quality (EFTQ) and production performance.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard work, and communication processes that support consistent plant execution.
- Partner with product development, manufacturing engineering, and plant teams to assess manufacturing impacts of future vehicle features and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing systems, manufacturing engineering, tooling, automation, or production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues with complex equipment, develop and validate solutions in a lab environment, and support implementation across manufacturing equipment, test systems, software, and plant operations.
- Experience developing, validating, deploying, or supporting manufacturing equipment and hardware systems in production or manufacturing readiness environments.
- Experience implementing new manufacturing processes, equipment, or system changes in production environments.
- Ability to work independently in manufacturing environments, manage competing priorities, and drive issues to closure.
- Experience collaborating across product engineering, manufacturing engineering, suppliers, and plant operations teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical issues and communicate solutions effectively.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Hands-on experience supporting vehicle alignment systems, headlamp aim systems, active safety calibration systems, or similar end-of-line manufacturing technologies.
- Working knowledge of vehicle systems including forward collision mitigation, radar calibration, camera calibration, night vision, or related technologies, including Burke Porter, Fori, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems, tooling systems, controls, plant IT systems, cybersecurity, and vehicle manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated success improving quality, uptime, reliability, or operational performance of end-of-line manufacturing systems.
- Experience supporting vehicle launches, plant builds, or manufacturing readiness activities
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience.
