On Site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Arlington Facility on a full-time basis.

The Role:

Arlington Assembly is home to the team building GM’s highly awarded full-size SUVs, including the Cadillac Escalade. We are seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead quality engineering execution in a high-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environment where customer expectations are uncompromising and the opportunity to make an impact is significant.


This is a visible, hands-on leadership role for an engineering leader who thrives on solving difficult technical problems, preparing the organization for launches and engineering changes, reducing variation, and aligning cross-functional teams around decisive action. The selected leader will be expected to challenge existing approaches, turn complex quality data into durable solutions, and deliver measurable improvements in manufacturing execution and customer experience—while helping elevate Cadillac product execution toward Tier 1 luxury expectations.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage a team of quality engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality output and professional development.
  • Oversee the implementation and execution of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives for new product launches and engineering changes, ensuring robust quality plans are in place from design to production.
  • Drive the application of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify potential failure modes in manufacturing processes, develop mitigation strategies, and reduce risk.
  • Manage the Problem Resolution and Tracking System (PRTS) to effectively document, analyze, and resolve quality issues, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership in Technical Problem Solving methodologies to identify root causes of quality defects, implement robust solutions, and prevent recurrence.
  • Champion Variation Reduction initiatives across all manufacturing processes, utilizing statistical analysis and lean principles to optimize performance and achieve consistent product quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to integrate quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor and improve key internal and external quality performance indicators, analyze data, and report on quality trends and progress to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, preferably automotive or related field.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles and tools.
  • Strong expertise in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control plan development.
  • Demonstrated ability in Technical Problem Solving, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Solid understanding and experience with Variation Reduction techniques and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment, interfacing and supporting all levels of the organization.

What Will Give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred. (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role with demonstrated ability in People Management.
  • Proficient in utilizing Problem Resolution and Tracking Systems (JIRA PRTS) for effective issue management.
