Descrição
The Scaled Engineering Operations (SEO) team applies human intelligence to some of the toughest problems facing AV development at General Motors (GM). We work closely with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Product Management, and Business to create and iterate on products that move our business forward. We are integral to the development of GM’s ADAS technology. Our products include annotated dataset for machine learning and pareto development, strategic test creation and management, and structured reviews of critical events & simulations to understand the performance of the vehicle onroad and in simulation.
We are looking for a Technical Product Operations Manager who can oversee data products that directly impact the rapid, efficient, and safe operations of autonomy in GM’s vehicles. Specifically, this individual will need to become well-versed in GM's simulation and testing space.
This role operates as a high‑impact individual contributor, owning critical workflows end‑to‑end while influencing how work is done across the team. It requires a blend of operational leadership, analytical rigor, and technical depth, and is execution‑oriented with significant scope for impact. The role is expected to set the bar for quality, provide guidance to peers, and mentor other ICs through influence, with opportunities to take on additional leadership scope as the organization scales. Depending on background and business needs, the role may emphasize simulation and test quality, issue taxonomy and analysis, or large‑scale labeling operations, all grounded in strong systems thinking and cross‑functional leadership.
The role combines operational ownership, program leadership, and technical depth to drive analytical and systems‑level problem‑solving that improves quality, scalability, and trust across our core systems. It sits at a critical inflection point between engineering complexity and operational scale, shaping how data, tests, and issues are defined, measured, and acted upon—directly impacting the speed, safety, and reliability of advanced vehicle systems.
What You'll Do
-
Own the data product that supports simulation and test issue management, ensuring it remains accurate, scalable, and aligned to protocol execution needs.
-
Maintain, and evolve issue categories to ensure consistent interpretation and high‑quality protocol data through close collaboration with simulation partners.
-
Identify gaps, refine issue definitions, and ensure consistent application of taxonomy items across teams and workflows.
-
Support the creation of metrics, dashboards, and analyses that surface trends and inform prioritization and decision‑making.
-
Contribute to adjacent data products and pilot initiatives, flexing across SEO’s portfolio to enhance operational excellence and data reliability.
-
Identify and drive opportunities for process improvements that make simulation/test issue workflows more scalable, efficient, and resilient as the AV software stack evolves.
