Work Arrangement ​ :This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office four times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role

In this position, your responsibilities include CMM equipment and Gage procurement, CMM Fixture concept design, CMM programming & simulation and implementation, Gage concept design and Gage design validation. You will have to support GPS plants to achieve the Quality and productivity metrics. You will possess a broad technical knowledge combined with creative problem solving and analytical ability. You will be based in GM Technical Center India, Bangalore and will have ample travel opportunities across various regions to support new program launches, process improvements and troubleshooting technical issues in GPS plants.

What You'll Do

  • Create CMM programs for 3C (Cylinder Head, Cylinder Block and Crankshaft) and inhouse parts.

  • Preparation of SOR (Statement of Requirements) / RFQ (Request for quotation) for CMM and Gage.

  • Participate in Technical discussion with CMM & Gage Manufactures and support for Procurement process.

  • CMM Fixture concept design / Gage concept design / Gage design validation

  • Create / simulate / debug CMM Programs for new GPS product programs.

  • Participate in MARO activity at OEM and GM sites.

  • Update Master Dot template and present in Launch wall review meeting.

  • Provide plant support on CMM and Gaging issues.

  • Optimization of CMM programs for process capability improvement.

  • Continuous improvement in CMM programming to reduce cycle time and cost.

  • Support SQA team for supplier development on need basis.

  • Follow Safety guidelines and standardized work during execution activities.

  • Achieve process excellence metrics like ME Launch scorecard, 100% First Time Quality, 100% On time delivery through standardized work, and continuous process improvement.

  • Capture and share lessons learned within the team.

  • Participate in global meetings and report out regional issues, lessons learned and project progress updates.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Automobile Engineering

  • 5+ years of Experience in Automobile / Mechanical allied Engineering Industry

  • Good knowledge of Automotive Vehicle / Propulsions System processes and product launch

  • Good knowledge of Teamcenter, NX, Vismockup, AutoCAD, MS Project and MS Office applications.

  • Sound understanding of GPDP, Quality Chain & PFMEA.

  • Sound knowledge of Project Management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)

  • Sound knowledge of GM-GMS Principles and Workplace safety systems.

  • Basic knowledge of statistical tools (Q-Das, Minitab etc.,)

  • Proficient in CMM Programming in ZEISS CALYPSO 6.2 and above

  • Part Print reading and GD&T

  • Good verbal and written communication

  • Interpersonal, Problem solving & Analytical skills

  • Basic Quality tools

  • Basic coding skills on process automation and business intelligence tools (C/C++, Java, VB script, Python, Power BI etc.,)

  • Ability to design work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements

  • Ability to implement and coach Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles

  • Ability to work with intercultural, diverse & multi-disciplinary teams to achieve enterprise goals

  • Ability to manage multiple and difficult projects / assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results

  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/ self-directed
