Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office four times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:

Your primary responsibility is to 'get the product right' and deliver product designs that enable a flawless launch and can be manufactured at the lowest total enterprise cost.

Execute Master Data Model Projects for GMSA and GMNA regions. Contribute by updating MDMs by utilizing stakeholders requirements through Unigraphics (NX), Teamcenter & releasing quality MDMs for our Manufacturing sites. Our organization provide opportunities to innovate, improve & encourages in challenging the status quo. Master Data Model are utilized by Processing Team, Measurement system teams, GD & T Team, BIW Simulation to build right product & ensures this product moves in station across different GM plants to build final assembly which further helps the organization to meet customer passion. MDM Engineers in India are experienced & capable of managing multiple responsibilities to meet the partner expectations.

What You'll Do

  • Learn GM Global Standards for BIW Assembly Updates(Datum locating strategy for sheet metal parts )

  • Analyze inputs like Product, Weld, Sealer, Assembly Sequence chart,In house and Outsource strategy, information received from stakeholders & create Items for   MDM, Product,Weld,Datum in Teamcenter as per GM global standards.

  • Generate the required output/deliverables (Product Overlays, Weld consistency report, Datum consistency report, Product, Weld Issues ppt, Product Issue (Installation Assembly) checklist)

  • Create the Datums and assign the attributes as per the Concept sheets.

  • Perform the Datum Consistency check 

  •  Knowledge of Creating assembly  Sequence structure Views as per Concept Sheets(ASKF sheet)

  • Take the CSV report to check all the attributes.

  • Datum Synchronization & Perform DCS and Checkmate

  • Flawless communication within team for project support & updates

  • Mention the Change description note

  • Perform quality check  activities & update the MDM

  • Design review meetings with Suppliers, Product Engineer, Stake holders.

  •  Verify the product weld issue output, for correctness of the data through Teamcenter.

  • Generate Improvement ideas for supporting organization’s productivity.

  • Support in Training New Engineers to develop their technical skills.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

GM imparts training to the employee to improve upon the required skills that is needed to execute the specific,job. The culture is that of learning, practicing, performing and then excelling. A quick and agile learner is the requisite for the job. The incumbent will learn all the requirements of the job, execute initially under mentorship and supervision and later own projects and deliver value to the organization. A typical Master Data Model Engineer works on multiple projects in a year that supports launch of multiple car programs and add to the top line of the organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Automobile Engineering

  • Good knowledge of Automotive Vehicle / Body-In-white processes and product launch.

  • Good knowledge of Teamcenter, NX, Vismockup, AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office applications.

  • Sound understanding of GVDP (Vehicle development processes) , Quality Chain & PFMEA.

  • Sound knowledge of Project Management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)

  • Sound knowledge of GM-GMS (Lean manufacturing processes) Principles and Workplace safety systems.

  • Basic Manufacturing Process and concept

  • Communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Learning Agility

  • Interpersonal, Problem solving & Analytical skills

  • Basic Quality tools

  • Ability to design work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements.

  • Ability to implement and coach Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles.

  • Ability to work with intercultural, diverse & multi-disciplinary teams to achieve enterprise goals.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results.

  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/ self-directed.
