Buick/GMC Assistant Retail Planning Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Retail Planning Manager to join the Buick/GMC Retail Planning Team . This role is an integral part of the organization and will have a direct impact on the sales performance and profitability of both brands.
Buick/GMC Assistant Retail Planning Manager will work closely with senior leadership to help develop, communicate, and execute retail strategies and tactics that support production, distribution, incentive effectiveness, and overall market competitiveness. The role also supports Residual Value Management activities for Buick/GMC and provides subject matter expertise to cross-functional teams and external partners.
This position offers broad exposure across sales operations, finance, product packaging, pricing, remarketing, certified pre-owned operations, and used vehicle market performance for current and future Buick/GMC products. No relocation will be provided.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support the development and execution of retail strategies and tactics that improve Buick/GMC sales and profitability
- Partner with cross-functional teams to conduct competitive incentive and market analysis
- Help develop national retail launch strategies and support Retail Launch Meeting preparation and presentations
- Prepare executive reporting and performance summaries for senior leadership
- Create and manage monthly retail incentive program contracts
- Support month-end closing analysis and ongoing incentive budget tracking
- Plan and coordinate monthly lease strategies and tactics, including management of national lease ladders for Buick and GMC
- Communicate retail initiatives and ad hoc updates to the National Field Team, Regional Directors, and Regional Sales Operations Managers
- Serve as a liaison across Field, Marketing, Advertising, Distribution, and Logistics teams to ensure initiatives are executed effectively and within budget
- Identify competitive market trends, risks, and opportunities that may influence retail strategy
- Support Buick/GMC Residual Value Management activities
- Identify opportunities to improve residual values and counsel cross-functional teams on residual-enhancing strategies
- Serve as a subject matter expert on residual implications related to product content, packaging, and business case development
- Assist in managing relationships and regular communications with external guidebook partners, including J.D. Power, ALG, Kelley Blue Book, and Black Book
- Residual value performance reporting and driver analysis
- Plan and execute new vehicle residual value launch events
- Develop and publish new model year residual values for each model and trim
- Identify optimal lease models, trims, and support lease model development
- Serve as a key liaison to the GM Certified CarBravo team
- Support the Buick/GMC field organization with GM Certified CarBravo-related initiatives, including incentives, certification, and dealer communications
- Support GM and GM Financial remarketing initiatives and programs
- Maintain off-lease volume forecasts for the Sales Operations team
- Manage select administrative and internal control activities, including vehicle loans and logistics coordination
- Analyze used vehicle price retention and market trends
- Support broader Buick GMC Sales Operations initiatives, including profit improvement, mix optimization, lease opportunities, and incentive effectiveness
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of sales, marketing, or business related experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong analytical capabilities – comfortable working with large data and figures
- Occasional / infrequent travel is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Field experience is strongly preferred
- Global Connect/Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/EZQuery/RL Polk databases
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- High level of organizational & project management skills
- Highly developed written and presentation skills
- Extremely high level of cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to network
- Work in a team environment
- Effectively manage multiple assignments utilizing highly efficient time management skills
- Self-driven and motivated
