  • Act as the maintenance lead for all shifts, managing a team of skilled trades through planning and execution.  Trades include; Electrician, Pipefitter, Machine Repair, Millwright, Truck Repair, FSO, EPPET, and HVAC
  • Supervise maintenance projects
  • Provide technical expertise to business units across the site for various types of processes and equipment.  (e.g. stamping presses, metal removal processes, welding applications, hydraulic systems, facilities)
  • requirements, rigging, machinery installations, and controls troubleshooting).
  • Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment
  • Complies and executes the terms of local and national labor agreements
  • Conducts safety talks, job instruction training, ergonomic evaluations, safety incident report & investigation. 
  • Implements divisional and corporate policies
  • Provide initial support for employee concerns and grievances, both formal and informal.
  • Frequent contact with others outside the work group
  • Write pre-task plans and confined space job plans for larger, unique jobs performed by GM UAW trades.
  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
  • Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
  • Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
  • Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
  • Acts as a safety role model for Team Leaders and Team Members by reacting to issues, changing unsafe work practices and behaviors.
  • Perform safety observation tours with TL's and ensure weekly talks are conducted with all employees.
  • Investigates all accidents /near misses/ medical visits with TL's and or TM's and completes Safety Incident Reports as required.
  • Understands GMS principles and can support using BPD process.
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance processes
  • Maintains workplace organization. 
  • Handles discipline for ICC Strat-A skilled trades employees.
  • Implements problem solving processes. 
  • Continually look for waste & eliminates it (indirect material, scrap, tools, safety equipment, office supplies, spare parts & manpower). 
  • Provide environment which stimulates team members involvement & personal growth by maintaining communications, soliciting suggestions, development training plan, attendance records, performance improvement, support team mtgs, job rotation, work w/UAW to resolve problem. 
  • Ability to manage people. 
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a participative environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to listen to and support Team Members. 
  • Lead maintenance planning and execution for 1st and 2nd shift, ensuring equipment reliability and readiness.
  • Support launch activities by developing maintenance plans aligned with vehicle build processes and production schedules.
  • Partner with local tenants, and production teams to ensure seamless maintenance support.
  • Influence shift performance and problem-solving efforts across functional boundaries without direct supervisory authority.
  • Own and drive key maintenance KPIs, including uptime, PM compliance, and equipment health metrics.
  • Develop and maintain process control plans to support proactive maintenance and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with PPO and Design business units to ensure overtime equalization of skilled trades employees are tracked and distributed accurately.   
  • Maintain overtime hours charged tracker for hourly employees.
  • Utilize MAXIMO, and scheduling systems to plan, track, and optimize maintenance activities.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data integrity across all maintenance systems.
  • Communicate technical findings and maintenance strategies to plant leadership in a clear, compelling manner.
  • Prepare and deliver shift-level reports and updates to support strategic decision-making.
  • Member of negotiating committee regarding represented labor where required.
  • Lead for Contractor Match process 
  • SW maintenance SME for Para183, Doc 159, and related site MOU’s
  • Manage projects and maintenance priorities to minimize overtime requirements
  • Knowledge of time keeping system, Kronos, and manage historical corrections.  

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED and 5+ years of industrial maintenance and/or skilled trades experience in Pipefitter, Machine Repair, Millwright, Truck Repair, FSO, EPPET, HVAC, or related fields.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering discipline (preferred)
  • Proven experience supporting maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment, including preventative maintenance, technical troubleshooting, and project coordination.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety processes, represented labor environments, and maintenance tracking systems such as MAXIMO and Kronos.
