Descrição

At General Motors, we are building the future of autonomous driving. Simulation is a critical foundation for how we develop, validate, and safely deploy our AV capabilities.

The Role

We are seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead simulation health, validation, and incident/SEV operations for GM’s enterprise Autonomous Driving Program. You will own the core operational rhythms around simulation reliability (weekly health/ops reviews, SEVs, retros, and Close the Loop), ensuring issues are surfaced quickly, routed correctly, and driven to resolution.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Own weekly Simulation Validation Ops and Sim Ops Health reviews: ensure docs are ready, the right ticket owners attend, statuses are up to date, and P0s are resolved or have clear mitigation.

  • Track all active Simulation SEVs and incidents, maintain a central status view, and drive incidents from detection through mitigation and resolution with a focus on reducing sim error rates.

  • Run and improve the Sim post-mortem / retro process: maintain the schedule, ensure retros use the standard template, convert follow‑ups into Sim CTL Jira items, and track to closure.

  • Partner with SEO and engineering on the Close the Loop process: ensure complete, high‑quality Jira ticket creation, accurate routing, and live tracking of issue resolution.

  • Define and maintain KPIs and dashboards for simulation health, SEV/retro follow‑through, and CTL progress, and regularly communicate status and risks to stakeholders and leadership.

Yours Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 10+ years of technical program management experience, including 2+ years in quality, AI/ML, robotics, autonomous systems, or large-scale platform/reliability programs.

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.

  • Proven experience running SEV/incident, reliability, or ops review processes across multiple engineering teams.

  • Strong systems thinking, data‑driven decision making, and ability to connect metrics and SLAs to day‑to‑day execution.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable influencing across engineering, data, and operations.

  • Deep familiarity with Agile delivery, Jira, Confluence, and technical development workflows.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotaxis, or other safety‑critical, requirements‑driven domains (e.g., automotive, aerospace, defense).

  • Background in simulation or test infrastructure, and scaling test creation and health monitoring.

  • Experience partnering with metrics/SEO teams on error investigation and close‑the‑loop processes.
