The Logistics Analyst supports the management of relationships with logistics suppliers and service providers while ensuring the effective execution of logistics activities in support of business objectives. This role works across key areas of the Logistics and Containers organization to support customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product, capacity, and financial objectives.

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for monitoring international logistics operations, supporting import and export processes, coordinating shipments, resolving operational deviations, and ensuring material visibility throughout the supply chain. The role works closely with customs authorities, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, transportation providers, internal stakeholders, external affiliates, and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of logistics activities in alignment with organizational business objectives.

  • Support logistics and container management activities to ensure customer, quality, service, responsiveness, capacity, product, and financial goals are achieved.

  • Manage and support relationships with logistics suppliers and service providers.

  • Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and monitor operational execution through corporate systems and market tools.

  • Work proactively with customs authorities, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to resolve material availability issues and operational deviations through completion of the import clearance process.

  • Execute and monitor global import and export flows using ocean and air transportation modes, including applicable procedures, regulations, and operational activities.

  • Monitor shipment status, transit times, customs clearance, delivery milestones, and potential disruptions.

  • Work with road transportation providers to support operational efficiency, on-time performance, and visibility of material movements throughout the supply chain.

  • Identify potential obstacles, take initiative to remove barriers, and resolve operational problems or complaints.

  • Communicate effectively within the Logistics organization, across functions, with external affiliates, and with regulatory agencies.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend updates or modifications to work methods, including solutions in complex situations where standardized procedures may not be available.

  • Prepare management reports, dashboards, and operational analyses to support timely and informed decision-making.

  • Influence stakeholders to adopt new concepts, practices, and approaches that improve logistics performance.

  • Promote GM values and make decisions with a strong customer focus.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Solid knowledge and practical experience working with customs authorities, ocean carriers, and freight forwarders.

  • Experience proactively resolving material availability issues and operational deviations through completion of the import clearance process.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of global import and export flows using ocean and air transportation modes.

  • Knowledge of applicable import and export procedures, regulations, and operational requirements.

  • Experience coordinating shipments with freight forwarders and monitoring logistics operations through corporate systems and market tools.

  • Experience using logistics and supply chain systems such as Import Sys, carrier portals, SAP, and MGO.

  • Knowledge of road transportation flows and experience working with transportation providers.

  • Ability to analyze operational data, make agile and accurate decisions, and manage competing priorities.

  • Ability to develop management reports and dashboards using Power BI.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, logistics providers, external affiliates, and regulatory agencies.

  • Fluent/Advanced english

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to removing operational obstacles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive logistics, international logistics, or supply chain operations.

  • Experience managing logistics supplier performance and service-level expectations.

  • Experience with material import clearance and international transportation coordination.

  • Knowledge of container management processes.

  • Experience applying data analytics, automation, or GM-approved Artificial Intelligence tools to logistics activities.

  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements in logistics operations.
