You will connect internal teams, logistics providers, suppliers, ports, yards, vehicle distribution centers, and commercial stakeholders to ensure vehicles move safely, efficiently, and with the required quality from origin through final distribution.

You will use operational data, financial analysis, and structured problem solving to improve vehicle availability, protect logistics costs, accelerate issue resolution, and strengthen end-to-end visibility across the regional supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the inbound and outbound flow of imported vehicles, including port operations, vehicle distribution centers, yard activities, inspections, repairs, accessory installation, second-stage operations, and final distribution.
  • Monitor vehicle availability, inventory aging, dwell time, transit performance, distribution capacity, and on-time delivery indicators; identify risks and lead corrective actions with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate logistics quality activities, including pre-delivery inspections, damage identification, evidence collection, root-cause analysis, containment, repair follow-up, and prevention plans.
  • Manage the preparation, validation, and follow-up of logistics damage claims, proformas, supplier responses, recoveries, and related financial documentation.
  • Partner with overseas sources, local logistics providers, ports, carriers, yards, dealers, and internal Quality, Sales, Finance, Customs, and Supply Chain teams to resolve operational and quality issues.
  • Support the development and maintenance of regional logistics budgets, APV and cost forecasts, cost-per-unit analysis, accruals, account mapping, contract visibility, and budget-versus-actual reviews.
  • Identify cost risks and improvement opportunities related to freight, vehicle handling, storage, demurrage, repairs, distribution, and other logistics services; recommend mitigation actions that support EBIT and free-cash-flow objectives.
  • Prepare recurring management reports, dashboards, and performance reviews that provide visibility to operational, financial, and quality results across Ecuador and applicable GMSA Pacific activities.
  • Support tariff updates, supplier performance reviews, capacity planning, logistics tenders, and implementation of new providers or distribution models.
  • Standardize processes, controls, inspection criteria, and documentation to improve traceability, data quality, and accountability across the vehicle logistics network.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methods, and other digital solutions where appropriate.
  • Promote a strong safety, compliance, quality, and customer-focus culture in all logistics activities, including visits to ports, yards, suppliers, and distribution locations.
  • Share best practices with regional teams and provide backup support for GMSA Pacific logistics planning, cost management, and quality topics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in vehicle logistics, supply chain, transportation, operations, quality, cost control, or a related business environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and use of structured workbooks; experience with Power Query or similar data-transformation tools is desirable.
  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system, including purchase orders, service confirmations, cost centers, accruals, or logistics-cost transactions.
  • Experience with logistics budgeting, APV management, freight-cost analysis, cost-per-unit reporting, tariff management, or supplier contract administration.
  • Experience coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders in a time-sensitive operational environment.
  • Experience analyzing operational and financial data, identifying variances, and translating findings into practical actions.
  • Strong communication, organization, follow-through, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and the ability to communicate in English in a regional business environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically to ports, yards, suppliers, logistics providers, and other operational locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating logistics quality claims, transportation damage investigations, repair programs, or supplier corrective actions.
  • Experience supporting regional operations across South America, especially Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, or Chile.
  • Experience with Power BI, dashboard development, data visualization, workflow automation, or AI-enabled reporting and traceability solutions.
  • Familiarity with vehicle inspection standards, Incoterms, ocean freight, port and yard processes, distribution planning, and logistics service-level agreements.
  • Knowledge of continuous-improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or structured root-cause analysis.
