The Role
The PLM Teamcenter Mentor serves as a trusted subject matter expert and coach for Siemens Teamcenter, Teamcenter Visualization and Mixed Reality in an engineering platform, & Single BOM. This role supports a community of 30,000+ engineers, designers, manufacturing, and cross‑functional users by providing mentorship, best‑practice guidance, and hands‑on support to ensure effective, compliant, and efficient use of Teamcenter throughout the product lifecycle.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
This role will interface with our business customers to:

Serve as a mentor and go‑to resource for Teamcenter (Active Workspace and Rich Client) and Teamcenter Visualization for users across engineering, manufacturing, and supporting functions

Coach vast user base on GM engineering and design processes, best practices, workflows, and data management standards to ensure accurate, compliant product data

Support onboarding and enablement of new Teamcenter users through one‑on‑one mentoring, group sessions, and training support

Provide day‑to‑day functional support, troubleshooting, and guidance within Teamcenter and related PLM tools

Assist users with change management processes, part structures, workflows, releases, and revisions within Teamcenter

Partner with PLM Deployment teams, IT, Process Owners, and Technical Engineering Leads to support releases, software testing, enhancements, pilots, and Early Access Programs (EAPs)

Identify recurring issues, usage gaps, and improvement opportunities; escalate systemic concerns and provide actionable recommendations

Contribute to the creation and maintenance of training materials, job aids, and FAQs,

Support compliance with engineering, manufacturing, and data governance requirements

Track mentoring activity and adoption trends and communicate insights to leadership as needed

Promote a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the Teamcenter user community
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Associate’s degree
-
5 years of relevant experience

Strong working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter Visualization

Strong working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter and PLM concepts
-
Active Workspace and Rich Client
-

Experience mentoring, supporting, or enabling users in a technical or engineering environment

Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to users with varying skill levels

Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills
-
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree

Experience supporting PLM deployments, upgrades, or large‑scale releases

Strong working knowledge of GM processes, engineering standards and workflows

Familiarity with product development, manufacturing, and change management processes

Previous experience in training, coaching, or PLM SME roles

Technical depth in Teamcenter functionality and workflows

Mentorship and customer‑focused mindset

Attention to detail and commitment to data quality

Clear written and verbal communication

Collaborative approach and ability to influence without authority
