Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role
The Jr. Analyst supports Customs Origin and Solicitation activities for GM North America by executing established processes, maintaining document quality and compliance, and providing timely support to internal stakeholders and global suppliers. The role is expected to work independently on defined tasks, escalate issues appropriately, and contribute to team goals through accurate execution, strong controls, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Specific duties related to this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Customs Solicitation and Origin support

Attend daily IRP (Immediate Response Process) activities for dutiable items crossing into the US and complete assigned actions on time

Support solicitation of American Automobile Labeling Act (AALA) requirements for labeling compliance

Audit customs documents submitted by suppliers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with customs standards

Execute Customs Origin and Solicitation activities in accordance with GM procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements

Maintain accurate records, trackers, and system updates for assigned work
Supplier and stakeholder coordination
-
Follow up with global suppliers through email and phone to obtain required customs documents and information

Communicate document gaps, errors, and required corrections clearly and professionally
-
Perform initial review and analysis when suppliers dispute document requirements or details
-
Escalate non-responsive suppliers, urgent issues, and unresolved concerns in a timely manner

Assist and encourage suppliers in using the Document Solicitation System and support training as needed

Collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders across PH, MX, US, and other supported regions
Reporting, controls, and execution discipline

Provide timely and accurate workload updates as part of status reporting

Prepare schedules, reports, analysis, and other work products as required

Maintain a strong controls and compliance mindset by raising financial, operational, or control concerns immediately

Support internal and external audit requirements, ad hoc requests, and special projects as needed
-
Help coordinate urgent tasks within the team and support workload balancing when required
Continuous improvement

Identify recurring issues and suggest practical improvements to enhance quality, turnaround time, and compliance

Support documentation updates, desk procedures, and process standardization efforts

Participate in team initiatives that improve service delivery, reporting, and operational efficiency
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Ability to work across multiple priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

Willingness to support teams and stakeholders across US, MX, and PH time zones
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Familiarity with North America Customs Policy

Exposure to USMCA, Free Trade Agreements, Country-of-Origin requirements, or related customs documentation

Knowledge of MS Access, KNIME, Power BI, or other automation / reporting tools
