Key Responsibilities

Act as the designated 1st Class Chief Engineer for the site and ensure plant utility and powerhouse operations are conducted in compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and operating requirements.

Provide daily leadership and direction for powerhouse and facilities personnel, including communication with shift engineers and review of operating logbooks.

Oversee plant operations and maintenance activities, including review and prioritization of maintenance work and management of MAXIMO work orders.

Coordinate daily operating reviews, start-of-shift meetings, SPQRCE reviews, and other routine operational meetings to maintain alignment on safety, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environmental performance.

Support incident review, safety observation activity, housekeeping standards, and continuous development of GMS practices within the powerhouse/facilities area.

Prepare schedules, support overtime planning, manage training coordination, and provide direction to team members to ensure adequate operational coverage and capability.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support repairs, maintenance planning, materials procurement, and documentation control.

Complete administrative responsibilities including timekeeping, planning, purchase requisitions, documentation, and communication follow-up.

Identify and implement operational improvements that enhance reliability, compliance, efficiency, and overall plant support capability.
Required Qualifications
-
Valid 1st Class Chief Engineer certification appropriate for the site’s operating requirements.

Strong knowledge of plant utility, powerhouse, maintenance, and safe operating practices.

Experience leading plant operations, maintenance coordination, and contractor/stakeholder communication in an industrial environment.

Working knowledge of GMS, safety processes, standard work, and continuous improvement methods.

Proficiency with plant systems and business tools such as MAXIMO, SAP/material processes, Microsoft Office, and electronic communications.

Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing or large industrial utility environment.

Experience supervising or directing shift-based operations teams.

Familiarity with timekeeping, maintenance planning, procurement support, and structured daily management systems.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $97,800.00 to $146,600.00. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
