In this role, you will support software asset management activities spanning software requests, entitlements, software models, usage data, integrations, compliance reporting, and operational process improvement.

This role is a strong fit for someone who combines analytical thinking, operational discipline, and cross-functional collaboration to improve data quality, strengthen compliance processes, and help the business make better decisions about software investments. The role is expected to be based in Michigan in a hybrid work arrangement, with regular onsite presence at a GM location.

What You'll Do

  • Manage day-to-day software asset management activities across software requests, entitlements, software models, and related operational workflows.

  • Analyze software license usage, purchased entitlements, and compliance positions to identify risk, optimization opportunities, and reporting insights.

  • Review and improve software asset data quality, including software product records, product types, and software model accuracy.

  • Investigate and resolve issues affecting scheduled SAM jobs, integrations, and data collection processes.

  • Support SaaS and direct-integration use cases by validating data feeds, monitoring job results, and helping ensure reliable license usage visibility.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across IT, procurement, platform teams, and business operations to improve software governance and operational effectiveness.

  • Develop reporting, documentation, and process recommendations that improve transparency, audit readiness, and decision-making.

  • Help identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement in software asset management standards, workflows, and controls.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3+ years experience in software asset management, IT asset management, software licensing, IT operations, procurement operations, or a related analytical role.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret software usage, entitlement, and operational data.

  • Experience working with enterprise systems and data sets, ideally including ServiceNow or similar asset/platform tools.

  • Experience identifying data quality issues, investigating root causes, and driving corrective actions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with software licensing concepts, compliance analysis, reconciliation, or SaaS subscription management.

  • Experience supporting software requests, software entitlements, or software model governance in ServiceNow.

  • Familiarity with software integrations, scheduled jobs, and operational monitoring within enterprise platforms.

  • Experience with reporting, dashboards, or data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar platforms.

  • Experience working in a regulated, audit-conscious, or large-enterprise environment.
