The Role
Welcome to General Motors Fleet, the General Motors business that serves business and government customers with complete vehicle and mobility solutions. As a Marketing and Sales Enablement Intern, you will support initiatives that help General Motors Fleet attract, retain, and grow customers across these markets.
You will gain hands-on experience developing marketing strategies, analyzing customer and business data, supporting sales teams, and improving the customer onboarding experience. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to the future of automotive business solutions while working with a dedicated, fast-paced, and highly engaged team.
The Team
The General Motors Fleet Marketing and Sales Enablement team uses marketing and customer success strategies to help sales teams sell and customers make informed purchasing and ownership decisions. The team supports General Motors Fleet’s growth strategy by using customer data to understand and engage loyal customers, new prospects, returning customers, and customers who are new to General Motors Fleet.
The team develops targeted marketing strategies for high-value accounts, generates new small-fleet leads, and builds customer success programs that help customers get started and have a world-class buying and ownership experience. The team works across marketing, sales, customer success, technology, and other business functions to create long-term customer relationships.
What You’ll Do
As a General Motors Fleet Marketing and Sales Enablement Intern, you may support one or more of the following areas:

Marketing strategy development and execution.

Customer relationship management, experiential marketing, media, and social media messaging.

Go-to-market strategy development and execution.
-
Evaluation and improvement of the marketing technology tools used by the team.

Sales operations and customer onboarding.

Analysis of customer, marketing, and sales information to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Development of recommendations and materials that help sales teams and customers make informed decisions.

Collaboration with cross-functional partners to support marketing and customer success initiatives.
Through these efforts, you will help General Motors Fleet evaluate how marketing and sales technology supports the sales team and improves the customer experience. Your work may help identify opportunities, improve processes, strengthen customer communications, and deliver more effective marketing and sales strategies.
Required Qualifications

Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, journalism, or a related field.

Must be graduating between December 2027 - June 2029.

Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the 12 week internship.
Preferred Qualifications

Related experience in the automotive industry.

Strong technical background and interest in marketing, sales, customer experience, or business technology.

Ability to listen carefully and engage others in meaningful dialogue.

Self-directed work ethic and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan - at three times per week, at minimum.
GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2027 Student Program - to help facilitate administration of relocation benefits, please apply using the permanent address you would move from.
