The Role:
The Mechatronics/Infotainment team drives the development of systems in the Body, Infotainment, and UI inputs space. There’s never been a more exciting time to join us as we shape the critical interactions between Infotainment UI and embodied implementation in the Body Electronics space.
As an Engineering Group Manager for the Mechatronics/Infotainment team, you’ll lead engineers who develop and test systems to meet the complex interactions between the UI space and actual realization in H/W.
This team partners across many organizations to deliver solutions and directly influences product quality, customer satisfaction, and reliability for the entire GM portfolio. This is an assignment where leadership, creativity, initiative, analytical thinking, deep customer insight, and exceptional collaboration are crucial and celebrated.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of engineers responsible for requirements, design, analysis and testing of Infotainment UI and Body electronics, as well as monitoring for and resolution of issues impacting quality.
- Own the strategy for Infotainment UI and its interactions with Mechatronics systems, ensuring robust fault detection, early issue identification, and actionable insights for both in-vehicle and cloud-based analytics.
- Drive cross-functional problem solving with software, hardware, customer experience, and quality organizations to improve reliability and reduce related warranty.
- Create a healthy and collaborative team environment: removing obstacles, enabling flow, and fostering continuous improvement
- Mentor and develop engineers at all levels through coaching, career planning, and ongoing feedback that accelerates growth
- Set clear objectives, measure performance, and hold team members accountable to high technical and behavioral standards
- Plan resources, prioritize workload and align team capacity with objectives
- Communicate status, strategies, insights and risks effectively to program teams and executive leaders
- Evolve standard work: Refine existing processes or invent new ones that strengthen quality workflows.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 7+ years of engineering experience related to system design, calibration, embedded controls, data analytics, warranty analysis, and/or complex automotive system development.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and relationship building skills, with a proven ability to align objectives, manage dependencies, and negotiate priorities across diverse teams.
- Ability to operate in ambiguity while making sound, timely decisions and driving meaningful action.
- Proven experience creating and executing plans that align with long-term business strategy, product needs, and enterprise-wide goals.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results across multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and establishing new, more effective ways of working.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree in Engineering with a focus on Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Systems Engineering.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration
- 2+ years of direct or indirect leadership of technical teams
- Experience applying modeling to engineering problems.
- Working knowledge of automotive system design, regulations, and best practices.
