The Role:
Orion Assembly is seeking a detail‑oriented Supply Chain/Inventory Control professional to ensure a flawless flow of materials internally in the assembly plant. This role focuses on maintaining accurate records within the Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), safeguarding data integrity, and preventing part shortages that could impact production. The position requires strong collaboration with internal plant teams, as well as proactive problem‑solving to support uninterrupted operations and consistently meet customer requirements.
What You’ll Do:
- Problem investigation and resolution
- Business Plan Deployment (BPD) and Global Manufacturing System (GMS) support and reporting which will require the candidate to be able to report out on issues and what the corrective actions to prevent in the future will be
- Support of process and procedures which can involve writing new work instructions, updating existing processes and training individuals to the requirements
- Solve complex inventory control issues that may arise through investigation of shipping and receiving functions; scrap; structure issues
- Work with plant personnel and 3rd party personnel to review inventory levels; transit times; ship frequency among other factors to drive proper banking strategies
- Manage inventory control through high precision cycle counts required monthly as well as plant driven cycle counts investigation any discrepancies and driving corrective actions for inventories that are not accurate to the record balances
- Supporting Model Year changes related to build out and startup – ensuring parts are available to build out units at Model Year change as well as ensuring that parts are available to seamlessly start the following Model Year unique parts
- Provide answers / solutions / suggestions to the problems that are identified working a sense of urgency to eliminate the issue
- Utilize ASRS and Warehouse Management System (WMS) data to identify trends, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement
- Provide first responder ASRS support resolving immediate bottlenecks impacting production
- Maintain ASRS Plan for Every Part setup and required maintenance throughout the production lifecycle
- Facilitate training to operations and support personnel as required
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent experience
- 3+ years’ relevant experience required
- Experience in Supplier relations
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional group; leading the group as needed
- Ability to multi-task on multiple critical issues at the same time
- Ability to work effectively under a high amount of stress
- Ability to work 2nd shift
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Supply Chain
- Previous experience with MGO-A
- Previous experience with Vaidat (ASRS) and Manhattan (WMS) software
- Previous experience with automated mobile equipment
- 5+ years in Supply Chain
- Multi-plant / facility experiences
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing facility
- Ability to work effectively will all levels of the organization
