Work Arrangement:
Onsite: This role is categorized as Onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Assembly Plant five times per week at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role:
In the role of Manufacturing Engineering Co-op based out of Oshawa Assembly Plant, you will get the chance to procure, manage, install, and validate capital and operating projects! Projects range from process design improvements to new equipment with a focus on safety, cost, and schedule. Also, you will initiate, and support process improvements related to the assembly process in your assigned area! You will perform troubleshooting of various equipment such as VDL’s, conveyance, and lift assists.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop a proactive safety culture by engaging team members and peers in our safety processes

Understood and effective use of Global Manufacturing System
-
Respond to Production needs, and requests for CI
-
Review details with maintenance and production of any issues over previous shifts
-
Create general shopping carts for small projects
-
Participate in weekend and shutdown work planning meetings
-
Review safety significant events, and safety messages
-
Review shift notes
-
Compliance training - Hot Work, Confined Space, First Aid CPR, Rigging, and Electrical Safe Work Practices
-
Identify ways to eliminate waste in the areas of quality, scrap, uptime, energy, etc.

Support Global Manufacturing System standards including Maintenance Level 4/5 Board, Business Plan Deployment, and Workplace Organization

Report near misses
Required Qualifications:
-
Pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree (3rd and 4th year students preferred) in one of the following areas: Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechatronics, Controls, Systems, Automotive, Materials or equivalent)

Eligible to work full-time (40 hours per week) in Canada and for 8, 12 month terms ( consecutive semesters) starting September 2026

Willing to work in a plant environment and flexible working hours (shift work, weekends, and overtime to meet business needs)
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Prior manufacturing experience, knowledge of production environments, and in automotive industry are considered assets

Previous supervisory, or team leading experience

The monthly salary range for this role is $4,264.00 to $4784.00 CAD. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
