What You’ll Do
In this role, you will lead daily test operations to support safe, efficient, and consistent execution across vehicles, operators, equipment, and work areas. You will coordinate readiness, monitor test activity, resolve operational issues, improve procedures and checklists, support team training, and partner cross-functionally with engineering, fleet, maintenance, training, and operations leadership to maximize data collection, improve performance, and maintain strong safety and compliance standards.
Operational Execution
- Execute daily test operations to defined metrics that maximize data collection, data quality, and test completion
- Coordinate readiness across vehicles, operators, equipment, and work areas
- Monitor launches, recoveries, and in-test activities to reduce delays and improve operational consistency
- Maintain awareness of test status, track issues, and support effective shift handoffs
Process Ownership and Readiness
- Develop, document, and improve procedures and checklists for vehicle preparation, charging, cleaning, deployment, launch, and recovery
- Support operator procedures that improve consistency, safety, and readiness
- Train and onboard new team members on MPG workflows, fleet safety, and operating processes
- Uphold departmental policies and provide coaching to support safe and effective execution
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, fleet, maintenance, training, and operations leadership to support data collection and test execution
- Identify execution gaps, resolve day-of-test blockers, and improve operational performance
- Communicate operational updates, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve readiness issues affecting vehicles, operators, systems, equipment, and schedules
Continuous Improvement
- Identify workflow gaps and inefficiencies that affect readiness, execution, or data collection
- Improve procedures, communication flows, checklists, and readiness standards
- Help standardize best practices across recurring workflows
- Support focused testing campaigns through onsite coordination, escalation, and post-drive feedback
Safety and Compliance
- Follow GM safety protocols in offices, garages, road systems, and test tracks
- Support safe vehicle handling, controlled launches, and readiness verification
- Promote compliance with GM, site, and departmental safety expectations
- Escalate safety, readiness, and execution concerns promptly
Requirements
- Experience in operations management, operations planning, project coordination, or related work in a fast-paced technical, automotive, fleet, or testing environment
- Must be available to work Thursday through Sunday, 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM EDT .
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills with a team-oriented and action-focused mindset
- Ability to adapt quickly and remain effective in changing operational environments
- Ability to work onsite at Milford Proving Ground and support public-road testing in a hands-on role
- Must be able to obtain and maintain GM Level 2 driver certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting onsite operations, vehicle or fleet readiness, test coordination, or controlled test environments
- Familiarity with process documentation, training support, operational compliance, and cross-functional coordination
- Experience working with test execution teams in automotive, autonomous vehicle, or technical field operations environments
