Work Arrangement : This role is categorized as hybrid on mid-shift, with PH–EST overlap. The successful candidate is expected to report to the office three to four times per week or at a frequency dictated by the business.

The Role

The GBS Finance Site Lead is a senior leader accountable for GM’s Manila-based GBS Finance business area, with responsibility for translating enterprise and functional strategy into operational performance, transformation outcomes, organizational capability, and long-term scalability. This role partners closely with GBS Finance and enterprise leadership to shape priorities, set direction, and deliver critical business outcomes through a high-performing, digitally enabled finance organization. 

This leader owns the Manila operating agenda across service delivery, transformation, talent, governance, and stakeholder alignment. The role is expected to lead through subordinate leaders, drive critical KPIs and strategic initiatives, and strengthen Manila’s position as a high-impact global finance hub that advances GM’s enterprise priorities. 

What You'll Do

Business Area Leadership and Strategy  

  • Own the Manila GBS Finance business area and provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple finance process domains, stakeholder groups, and regions. 

  • Collaborate with GBS Finance executive leadership to shape long-term strategy, operating priorities, and business objectives for the Manila organization. 

  • Translate strategic direction into actionable operating plans, resource priorities, governance routines, and measurable performance outcomes. 

  • Lead a team of teams through subordinate managers, ensuring alignment, accountability, and integrated execution across the organization. 

  • Strengthen Manila’s role as a strategic global finance hub by aligning site capabilities with enterprise needs, future operating model direction, and business growth priorities. 

Operational Performance and Service Delivery  

  • Own delivery of critical service, productivity, quality, and control outcomes for Manila across in-scope finance operations. 

  • Establish and continuously elevate KPIs, service levels, governance mechanisms, and escalation routines to ensure reliable, high-quality, and scalable delivery. 

  • Drive standardization, simplification, and disciplined execution across finance processes to improve cost-to-serve, responsiveness, and business value. 

  • Ensure delivery performance across global stakeholders, regions, and time zones while balancing customer experience, operational rigor, and capacity optimization. 

Transformation and Future of Finance  

  • Set the transformation agenda for Manila in support of Future of Finance priorities, with accountability for modernizing processes, roles, and operating models. 

  • Lead adoption and scaling of digital capabilities including ERP-enabled process improvements, workflow automation, analytics, self-service, and other enabling technologies. 

  • Convert recurring operational issues and stakeholder pain points into sustainable improvements in process design, policy, controls, technology, and governance. 

  • Partner across Finance, Digital, IT, and transformation teams to prioritize and execute initiatives that improve scalability, speed, accuracy, and decision support. 

Governance, Risk, and Enterprise Partnership  

  • Establish the governance and control framework required to deliver strong compliance, audit readiness, operational discipline, and decision quality across the Manila organization. 

  • Lead resolution of complex operational and stakeholder issues with urgency, transparency, and enterprise-minded judgment. 

  • Engage senior leaders across GM to align priorities, negotiate tradeoffs, and drive decisions that improve function performance and enterprise value. 

  • Partner closely with peer GBS sites and enterprise stakeholders to align on strategic initiatives, share best practices, and ensure consistent execution across locations. 

Leadership, Organization, and Talent  

  • Build and lead a high-performing leadership bench for Manila, with clear accountability for organization design, succession depth, capability building, and talent outcomes to ensure the organization can scale and meet future-state Finance requirements. 

  • Make and influence staffing, development, and organizational decisions that strengthen long-term performance and readiness. 

  • Reprioritizes initiatives and reallocates resources across teams based on changing business needs, enterprise priorities, and risk considerations. 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer focus across the site. 

  • Serve as the visible senior site leader for Manila, reinforcing GM behaviors, strengthening employee engagement, and creating an environment where leaders and teams can perform and grow at scale. 

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Extensive progressive leadership experience in finance, accounting, shared services, GBS, or large-scale operational finance environments. 

  • Demonstrated success leading leaders and building high-performing organizations in complex, matrixed, global environments. 

  • Proven experience shaping strategy and delivering measurable operational and transformation outcomes across multi-process finance organizations. 

  • Strong track record of leading large-scale finance modernization efforts involving process redesign, automation, ERP enablement, analytics, and governance improvements. 

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and navigate complex stakeholder environments involving competing priorities, ambiguity, and organizational change. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. 

  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification required.

  • Strong strategic and digital mindset, with the ability to connect transformation investments to service, control, talent, and cost outcomes. 

  • Demonstrated ability to shape future-state operating models and scale leadership capability in high-growth or evolving environments. 

  • Advanced degree preferred.
