Our Mission

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard, from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly adaptable and skilled Senior RF Antenna Simulations Engineer to join General Motors’ Global Antenna Technologies team. In this role, you will be responsible for antenna simulations spanning the development, integration, and validation of advanced RF broadcast antenna systems for our next-generation vehicles. You may also be called upon to design or develop novel simulation methodologies aimed at achieving higher correlation fidelity with measurement data.

This is a high-impact, technically demanding role at the intersection of electromagnetic engineering, software automation, and cross-functional vehicle integration, ideal for a self-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-moving innovation environment.

What You Will Do

  • Lead antenna simulations for the development, integration, and validation of advanced RF broadcast antenna systems across next-generation vehicle programs
  • Conduct antenna performance analysis in large-scale, complex vehicle environments using EM solvers such as HFSS and CST
  • Develop, improve, and automate EM simulation methods, and perform rigorous correlation with physical test data
  • Perform complex geometry modification, processing, and meshing to support simulation accuracy and efficiency
  • Research and apply methods used to determine the electrical properties of various materials relevant to antenna integration
  • Support and contribute to EMC simulation analysis as needed
  • Plan and execute antenna system validation procedures using RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, and anechoic chambers; analyze results and correlate with simulation data
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams including mechanical, electrical, DRE, and others
  • Operate autonomously to drive issue identification, root cause analysis, and end-to-end resolution

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of experience in RF antenna design, development, and integration
  • Solid understanding of electromagnetic theory, antenna design principles, and wireless communication systems
  • Proficiency in utilizing EM solvers (HFSS and/or CST) efficiently to conduct antenna performance analysis in large-scale, complex environments
  • Familiarity with antenna vehicle integration criteria for systems including SXM, Cellular, GNSS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, UWB, and AM/FM
  • Familiarity with methods used to characterize the RF/electrical properties of various materials
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse, multidisciplinary teams
  • Proactive mindset with a strong sense of initiative, accountability, and a results-driven approach
  • Strong adaptability to new technologies, evolving requirements, and dynamic project environments

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills)

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Antenna Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in RF antenna simulations, development, and integration
  • Strong understanding of geometry meshing workflows and intricacies using the HyperMesh tool
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Python for simulation scripting, automation, or data analysis
  • HPC/GPU acceleration experience for EM simulation workloads, including best practices for model version control, automation, and traceability
  • Automotive RF antenna system experience

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $104,000 to $154,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position
