The Quality Operations Lead is responsible for leading plant quality operations for a single engine product area, ensuring safe, high-quality manufacturing execution, compliance to GM quality requirements, and continuous improvement in first-time quality. This role serves as the primary quality liaison across manufacturing, engineering, supplier quality, customers, and plant leadership to resolve issues, drive corrective actions, and strengthen the Quality Management System for the assigned engine product area.
- Lead daily quality operations activities and support plant quality performance within the assigned engine product area
- Drive problem-solving, containment, corrective actions, and issue escalation for plant quality concerns
- Ensure compliance with BIQ, GMS, standardized work, audits, and applicable quality system requirements
- Coach and develop quality team members and support cross-functional teams in structured problem-solving and quality methods
- Monitor key quality metrics, customer concerns, and emerging issues; communicate status and countermeasures to leadership
- Interface with Program Quality, CPIT, PET, Supplier Quality, Suppliers, Customers, and Product Engineering
- Champion departmental initiatives associated with Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environment
Basic Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in manufacturing quality, engineering, or plant operations
- Ability to analyze data, prioritize issues, and drive timely resolution in a fast-paced plant environment
Basic Preferred:
- Knowledge of BIQ, quality systems, and structured problem-solving methods
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Red X or OPEX training
