The Role

General Motors is seeking a curious, analytical, and collaborative graduate student to join the Global Customer Research team for Summer 2027. This project-based internship offers hands-on experience using customer and market research to help inform business decisions across General Motors.

As a Global Customer Research Intern, you will support research projects from planning through delivery, analyze customer and market information, and translate findings into clear insights and recommendations. You will work alongside experienced researchers and internal partners to understand customer behavior, identify meaningful themes, and communicate what the findings mean for the business.

This internship is an opportunity to build experience in both quantitative and qualitative research, supplier management, data analysis, storytelling, and executive communication while helping General Motors keep the customer at the center of its decisions.

The Team

The Global Customer Research team helps General Motors understand the people, markets, and behaviors that shape customer decisions. The team gathers, analyzes, and synthesizes the voice of the customer to provide insights that inform business strategy, product development, marketing, and the overall customer experience.

The team partners with leaders and stakeholders across Brand, Product, Marketing, Planning, Program Management, Engineering, and Design.
