The Role:
The Stamping Continuous Improvement (CI) Lead will lead the local stamping CI agenda, driving top-quartile performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people for a contiguous stamping operation. In this role, you will lead the Fairfax Stamping CI using innovation, partner closely with plant personnel, and connect the site to the broader Stamping CI/Operational excellence network. You will initiate, prioritize, and execute projects that improve throughput, stamping metrics, speed attainment, and budget performance while supporting both current and major program launches. This position requires a strong hands-on background in stamping operations, data analysis, and engineering, combined with the ability to coach teams in CI tools and problem-solving.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead Fairfax Stamping CI activities to support execution of plant and stamping enterprise objectives, aligned to safety, quality, throughput, and cost targets.
- Initiate, prioritize, and manage multiple CI projects in the stamping operation and across the Stamping enterprise, from problem definition through sustainment.
- Champion implementation of developed technologies and best practices to improve stamping processes by leveraging operation excellence tools/methodologies, CI workshops, and structured problem-solving. Leverage innovative approach and tools including AI, vision, etc. to improve processes.
- Generate technical and data-driven solutions to improve performance for current production, new products, and major program launches in the stamping value stream.
- Provide technical leadership and CI coaching to Fairfax Stamping, including Group Leaders, engineers, and cross-functional partners (Engineering, Quality, Finance, HR/LR, ME Center, etc.).
- Lead and support development of tactical and strategic plans for stamping performance improvement, aligning actions to top-quartile metrics.
- Support budget compliance for people cost, indirect materials, and lean management systems by driving productivity initiatives, standard work, and effective utilization of resources.
- Stay educated on new processes, technologies, and benchmarking in stamping and manufacturing CI, and translate learnings into practical improvements at Fairfax Stamping.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) :
- 2+ years of experience in stamping or similar industry.
- Functional, hands-on expertise in stamping or similar operations, including production planning, plant floor processes, data analysis, and performance metrics (production metrics, speed attainment, scrap, OEE, etc.).
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience leading Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence or other problem-solving programs specifically in a stamping plant, including die utilization, press optimization, and material flow.
- Working understanding of the stamping Bill of Operations (BoO) and how to implement and optimize each element (labor, equipment, methods, layouts, and work standards).
- Proficiency with advanced data and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, advanced Excel, plant MES data) to identify loss patterns and track CI impact.
- Formal training/certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or OpEx and demonstrated application in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
