The MFG Investment Analyst - Non Product Program (NPP) will play a critical role in evaluating the financial viability of non-product related investments across General Motors MFG operations. This individual will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and optimize resource allocation.
Job Responsibilities

Lead the financial management of Non-Product Program (NPP) investment activities, including ownership of the annual capital and operating expense budgets and coordination of the annual long-term planning submission.

Manage appropriation request activity end to end, including preparing accurate supporting documentation, initiating approvals, and ensuring requests are completed in a timely and well-controlled manner.

Own month-end finance responsibilities for the area, including required system submissions, forecast updates, and preparation of clear managerial reporting for Manufacturing leadership, both finance and non-finance, as well as Global Capital Finance.

Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to maintain alignment on shifting priorities, capital rebalancing needs, and evolving business requirements.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, simplify work, and increase efficiency, with a particular focus on applying AI and other digital tools in practical, value-added ways.

Build a strong understanding of manufacturing operations in order to provide better financial insight, strengthen decision support, and help drive sound investment choices and associated forecasting.

Provide thoughtful financial recommendations and challenge where appropriate to support effective capital allocation, prioritization, and business decision making.

Contribute actively to the MFG Finance winning culture through active workplace engagement across safety, people, social and technical workstreams
Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

5 + years of related experience in finance.

Proven experience in financial modeling, investment analysis, and valuation techniques.

Strong data mining and data modeling skills, with experience using relevant software and tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly, concisely, and confidently to a broad range of stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent ad hoc and time-sensitive requests.

Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain strong attention to detail in a role with significant ownership and visibility.

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations from both a process improvement and investment decision-making perspective.

Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to innovate, challenge existing processes, and bring forward bold, practical ideas.

Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn the business, especially manufacturing operations, in order to strengthen financial partnership and decision support.

Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and influence partners through credibility and insight.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Location: Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the - Global HQ Warren MI three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business]
