The Role
The Autonomous Manufacturing & Deployment (AMD) organization is seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Business Efficiency Engineer to support automation initiatives across General Assembly (GA), with future expansion into Global Propulsion Systems (GPS) and Body Manufacturing Engineering. This role serves as a key link between Manufacturing Engineering leadership, automation teams, and business stakeholders, helping drive data-informed decisions across the organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing automation project data, developing executive-level dashboards and reporting tools, and improving visibility into manufacturing automation investments. This position will collaborate closely with senior leaders across multiple Manufacturing Engineering centers to support strategic planning, program execution, and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards that track automation program performance, project execution, spending, and key business metrics.

Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of automation project data across multiple reporting platforms.

Design and implement reporting solutions that provide actionable insights and enable data-driven decision-making.

Create executive presentations, product demonstrations, and analytics tools for leadership reviews.

Analyze project performance, budgets, forecasts, and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

Build and optimize ETL processes to support scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
-
Utilize Python, SQL Server, Databricks, and cloud-based technologies to transform and analyze large datasets.

Develop and support business solutions using Power Apps, SharePoint, and Power Automate.

Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline business processes through automation and standardization.

Support business case development, financial reviews, and program assessments for manufacturing automation initiatives.

Provide visibility and reporting for automation technologies including Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), Autonomous Fork Trucks (AFTs), collaborative robots (cobots), industrial robotics, and other advanced manufacturing automation systems.

Support manufacturing operations across General Assembly facilities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with future expansion into GPS and Body Manufacturing Engineering.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

2-4 years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, manufacturing engineering, automation, process improvement, or a related field.

Advanced proficiency with Power BI, including dashboard development and data visualization.

Experience with DAX coding and complex data modeling.
-
Strong SQL Server and database management experience.
-
Experience using Python for data analysis, automation, and reporting solutions.
-
Experience building and managing ETL processes and data pipelines.
-
Hands-on experience with Databricks and large-scale data environments.
-
Experience developing solutions using Power Apps, SharePoint, and Power Automate.

Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Workspace tools.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
-
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

Experience supporting automation, robotics, autonomous systems, or advanced manufacturing environments.

Experience working in automotive manufacturing, industrial automation, high-volume manufacturing, or consulting environments.

Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple organizations.

Demonstrated ability to identify automation opportunities, streamline processes, and drive business efficiency improvements.
