Remote: This position does not require employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work off-site on a permanent basis. This position requires an employee to cover territory visits to dealerships in a reoccurring frequency

This role supports dealerships across the Kansas district or region. The selected candidate must live in territory or relocate to Kansas City, Kansas or surrounding area (within 50 miles). Relocation may be provided. Relocation benefits are available for candidates who qualify under company policy.

The Role

Are you a highly motivated relationship builder who enjoys solving business challenges, influencing leaders, and driving results? General Motors is seeking a District Manager Parts & Service (DMPS) to help dealerships improve their business performance, customer experience, and profitability.

This is a highly visible field leadership role that combines business consulting, strategic planning, analytics, and relationship management. You'll partner directly with dealership owners and senior leaders, helping them identify opportunities, implement solutions, and achieve measurable results.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Serve as a trusted business advisor to dealership leadership teams.

  • Build strong, positive relationships with dealer partners and influence business decisions through data, insights, and collaboration.

  • Help dealerships improve customer experience, customer retention, operational efficiency, and overall business performance.

  • Identify growth opportunities and develop actionable business plans to achieve performance goals.

  • Analyze trends, performance metrics, and market opportunities to recommend strategic solutions.

  • Lead meaningful business discussions with dealer leadership regarding opportunities, challenges, and performance improvement plans.

  • Partner with dealerships to execute customer care, service, parts, and operational initiatives.

  • Use analytical tools and business insights to support data-driven decision making.

  • Manage multiple priorities while operating independently in a dynamic environment.

  • Act as a problem solver and change agent, helping dealer partners adapt and succeed in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

  • Drive accountability and deliver measurable business results across assigned dealerships

  • Resolve aftersales customer concerns, including but not limited to:

    • SPAC (Service Parts Assistance Center)

    • CAC (Customer Assistance Center)

    • TAC (Technical Assistance Center)

    • Goodwill, Warranty, and Policy Requests

  • Monitor and deliver on KPIs including:

    • Sales Reporting Tool (SRT) objectives

    • Net Promoter Score (NPS)

    • Customer Retention

    • Service Training Standards (STS)

    • EV Training & Compliance

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in business, consulting, sales, or operations OR equivalent leadership experiences.

  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and consulting skills.

  • Experience working with customers, business partners, clients, or stakeholders.

  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Experience leading projects, initiatives, teams, or business improvement efforts.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business productivity tools.

  • Experience in automotive, retail, service operations, hospitality, sales, consulting, customer experience, or business management.

  • Experience working with KPIs, performance metrics, or business analytics.

  • Experience influencing leaders or managing customer/business relationships.

  • Ability to travel 50% or more

Territory & Travel:  This role supports dealerships across the Kansas City, Kansas district or region and requires up to 50% travel. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent regional travel to engage with dealer partners, conduct performance reviews, and support aftersales initiatives on-site.

Reporting Structure:  The District Manager Parts and Service reports directly to the Zone Manager Parts and Service. This position plays a key role in executing strategy with dealership operations.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. 

  • The expected base compensation for this role is ($105,600.00 - $140,700.00) USD Annually. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
