The Role
As a program team member, the Supply Chain Program Manager (SCPM) is responsible for managing program team deliverables across all GPSC by working collaboratively with the Program Team. The SCPM supports the execution of strategies to achieve program profitability targets and key GPDP deliverables for GPSC. This business individual will provide guidance to keep the program on-time, within budget, with quality, while aligning with the Program Team.
What You’ll Do
- Achieve program profitability/EBIT targets on the program architecture
- Maintain component timing plans
- Actively work with GM Customs to ensure USMCA and Tier-N Compliance
- Support various sourcing activities and commodity strategies throughout the GPDP
- Facilitate sourcing meetings including MPSR/PSR and DDRs
- Provide Program overview, program updates or changes with Purchasing counterparts
- Coordinate and prepare GPSC - PQRR deliverables & Program Gate Reviews for leadership
- Actively support program team meetings to represent purchasing
- Support Contingency Planning for Troubled Suppliers
- Support Launch Excellence - meet on time deliverables post launch
- Comprehend change request impacts to programs from supply base in response to Studies
- Execute profitability initiatives that gain insight on cost opportunities including benchmarking and supplier workshops
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to proactively identify and drive the implementation of profitability opportunities.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 2+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
- Demonstrates ability to execute with little support in the following competencies:
- Team Orientation - Ability to work effectively and efficiently with individuals and teams to solve a problem or complete a project
- Timely Problem Solving - Ability to make sense of requests, needs, or issues in order to solve problems
- Relationship Management - Develops and maintains constructive, cooperative working relationships
- At a minimum, has an emerging ability showcasing understanding of the process and willingness to learn and apply knowledge in the following competencies:
- Analytical Thinking - Consider various factors in decision making to determine solutions and their impacts
- Strategic Planning - Taking organizational strategies or priorities and turn into realistic action plans to execute or implement
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related field
- Experience with commodities
- Cost analysis or manufacturing experience
- Automotive industry experience
- Knowledge of Capacity and Materials Management
- Capable of drawing conclusions from complex data, market trends and the regulatory environment
- Ability to understand basic engineering documents and technical drivers for the applicable commodities
- Knowledge of contract law as it applies to the purchasing processes
