On Site : This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Defense Production Facility in Concord, North Carlina on a full-time basis (shift is four 10's, Monday - Thursday). This role requires flexibility to support changes in scheduled days, hours, and shift based on business needs.

The Role:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate, timely, and secure processing of inbound and outbound materials in a warehouse environment that handles Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). This role ensures compliant documentation handling, precise ERP transactions, and reliable material flow to support production, inventory accuracy, and customer delivery performance.
What You'll Do:
Receiving
- Receive inbound materials and verify against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Review incoming documentation, ensuring CUI is handled only by authorized personnel and stored securely.
- Identify damaged or nonconforming materials and protect any associated CUI‑bearing documents.
- Complete ERP receiving transactions in real time to maintain traceability.
- Label, stage, and route materials to appropriate secure storage or production areas.
- Submit all ASNs daily with zero backlog.
- Document and report any problem ASNs on the end‑of‑shift report.
Shipping
- Pick, stage, and prepare outbound shipments according to customer and internal requirements.
- Package materials securely and ensure CUI‑bearing documents are included only when authorized and protected during transit.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, packing lists, and other required documents.
- Verify shipment accuracy and documentation completeness before release.
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure on‑time pickups and dispatch.
Inventory & Warehouse Support
- Perform accurate material movements, transfers, and adjustments in the SAP system.
- Support cycle counts and physical inventory, ensuring CUI‑related records remain controlled.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse and dock environment.
- Follow FIFO, lot control, and traceability requirements.
- Receive FedEx and UPS shipments daily, Communicate to production line and receive in SAP
Compliance, Security & Safety
- Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Comply with CUI protection requirements, including secure storage, controlled access, and proper disposal of sensitive documents.
- Ensure no CUI is left unattended or accessible to unauthorized personnel.
- Support audits by providing accurate, complete, and secure documentation.
- Report safety hazards, documentation issues, or potential CUI exposure immediately.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree, or associate degree with 2+ years of related experience, or 4+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

2+ years of professional experience, preferably in shipping and receiving, business management, manufacturing, material handling, logistics, supply chain, education, or other roles requiring strong quantitative and problem-solving skills (e.g., mathematics)

Candidate must either be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee) or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required export control authorization.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Bachelors Degree in Business and two years of professional experience or 6 years of shipping and receiving experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Logistics , Engineering or related field

Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and logistics

Knowledge of following GM systems/databases: PPCR, GM Timing Card, PPCs, PRTS, Jira, Jira Align, SharePoint, IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC), SAP

Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or logistics environment

Project management certification or experience

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
