This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren, Michigan or Mountain View, California location three times per week, at minimum (or other frequency dictated by the business).
The Role
As a Global Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing Technology purchases (Software, Software as a Service, Infrastructure, etc.) on a regional and global basis. You will be responsible for developing, negotiating and implementing sourcing strategies by working with key stakeholders on technology requirements, IT, Security, Privacy and Legal, which then requires preparing and completing sourcing recommendations to various levels of management.
What You'll Do:
- Negotiate license models (or other technology models), competitive business cases, favorable and robust terms and conditions (including legal terms), and other items to complete a full contract package.
- Make recommendations to Stakeholders on terms and conditions
- Stay up to date on the IT industry and the strategic direction GM software and services is headed
- Work effectively cross-functionally, internally and externally, while building strong relationships
- Partner with IT and Business on strategy of supply base, technologies, products used, future products, technology roadmap, and viable suppliers for technology requirements.
- Work with Suppliers on governance and deliveries, including sound understanding of deadlines, required lead times, supplier contracts and application types.
- Active participation with key stakeholders, including Software and Services IT, the Business stakeholders, Legal, Security and Privacy, among others.
- Proactively manage annual renewal cadence and deadlines to support business continuity
- Adhere to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain benchmark data to drive a strategy
- Utilize GPSC Sourcing Process to manage Sourcing packages, while navigating ambiguous situations.
- Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chain sourcing process to manage sourcing packages.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 2+ years of relevant experience in purchasing (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
- Ability to negotiate through complex and/or ambiguous situations, while working independently
- Project management, managing multiple projects/assignments simultaneously, and prioritizing requests
- Proficient communication skills
- Ability to learn about items being purchased without having previous knowledge of the product
- Analytical skills, including the ability to do in-depth benchmarking
- Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
- Knowledge of computer software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Research)
- SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems
- Must be willing to travel 5% of the time domestically + Internationally

Compensation:
- The salary range for this role is $95,200 - $126,500. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
