The Senior Financial Analyst - US Pricing is responsible for developing pricing for vehicle models (inclusive of Fleet), engine variants, options, and packages on both current in-market vehicle programs and support/estimates for future vehicle programs.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Financial Analyst - US Pricing will be assigned to a particular segment of vehicles sold in the United States. Within the assigned segment, responsibilities will include:
- Partner with both Product and Brand Marketing to develop strategic pricing recommendations for models, engine variants, options and packages
- Perform competitive pricing assessments by understanding what competitor OEMs are offering as content and price on vehicles within the segment; monitor the market and suggest price changes to optimize profitability
- Maintain close partnership with vehicle program teams, coordinate pricing inputs to business cases and ensure on-time deliverables for program gate reviews
- Build and maintain detailed pricing files, calculating net sales revenues for the program based on the proposed pricing
- Create management presentations on the proposed pricing and present the proposal to receive leadership approval, including Fleet, Marketing, Finance, and Program teams
- Execute the approved pricing in GM’s systems so the right prices are included on the vehicle window label and billing systems (current product)
- Coordinate with Fleet and Marketing to ensure appropriate window label content and test labels to ensure accuracy before implementation (current product)
- Provide key vehicle revenue assumptions to Product Development Program Finance for use in overall vehicle business case development (future product)
- Perform feature value studies to ensure proper pricing of features, utilizing competitor pricing, GM’s costs and margins, and customer willingness to pay survey data
- Understand volumes and per-unit net sales revenues for assigned vehicles, serving as key financial contact for the vehicle revenue portion of the P&L for the segment
- Maintain outstanding relationships with business partners throughout; anticipate partner needs (proactive vs. reactive)
- Identify and lead opportunities to modernize pricing work by leveraging technology and AI to simplify processes, eliminate manual work, improve data quality and enable faster, more consistent business decisions
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or economics or related field
- 5+ Years of Finance experience
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles
- High business acumen and strategic thinking, with ability to collaborate with our business partners on customer-centric solutions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal guidance/supervision
- Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork and partnerships
- Ability to clearly communicate (verbally and in writing) the financial implication of various decisions, including direct communication to senior executives
- Comfort using IT systems to pull and analyze data
- Willingness and ability to perform detailed execution work
- High proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Location: Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the - Global HQ Warren, Mi three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business]
